You will now notice a large road sign that reads “Welcome To Wrexham” as you cross the border into Wales from Cheshire, England. This sign is designed to appear like the iconic Hollywood sign that is located in the hills above Los Angeles.
It has recently come to light that a big new fly-on-the-wall documentary series called Welcome to Wrexham will be filmed in this town in north Wales. The series will premiere in August 2022 on Disney+ in the United Kingdom and FX and FX on Hulu in the United States.
The docuseries will expose what occurred to the Welsh football team Wrexham AFC after two major Hollywood stars, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, decided to buy the club in 2020 and begin running it themselves. The club competed in a lower level of Welsh football. There will very certainly be a variety of highs and lows, as well as jokes with the natives.

While the Welcome to Wrexham documentary’s creators hasn’t revealed too much just yet, we do know that Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney plan to be very hands-on owners and fully immerse themselves in the little Welsh town. However, it appears there will be two seasons based on the Welcome to Wrexham announcement trailer above.
As two Hollywood stars acquire ownership of the storied but struggling football club in the Welsh town of Wrexham, the docuseries will follow the hopes and aspirations of the working-class residents of Wrexham.
In 2020, Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) joined forces to buy the Wrexham AFC football team in the hopes of bringing success to the underdog squad and, through the production of Welcome to Wrexham, winning over the entire world.
However, Rob and Ryan have never worked together or played football (soccer). However, both take their investments in Wrexham AFC seriously and really want to help the team grow, honor the community, and interact with local fans.

Ryan Reynolds, Star of Welcome to Wrexham, is a Football Series
Ryan Reynolds, the actor in the film Welcome to Wrexham, recently spoke with broadcaster Lorraine Kelly on her weekly Lorraine (9 am weekdays on ITV and ITV Hub).
“It goes without saying that we’ve adopted you over here, especially given your enthusiasm for football. How’s that all going?” Lorraine enquired. “You’ve added glitz and energy to football.”
“Before I arrived, Wrexham already had its own distinct brand of glitter and excitement. Rob McElhenney and I both adore it. Such a passionate endeavor, it is.

“In general, playing football has been the best and worst thing that has ever happened to me. I understand the beautiful game as much as I can at this point in my life, and it’s a new kind of gorgeous torment to me that I’ve never encountered. I adore it with all of my heart, but I also get extremely heartbroken by it frequently.
Lorraine complimented him for his $1 million donation to Ukraine along with his wife Blake Lively. He exclaimed, “I’m genuinely amazed at how much people have stepped forward. “Our gift was almost immediately matched. My wife and I are both aware of how fortunate we are to be able to do that.
Ryan Reynolds is a Canadian actor who was born in Vancouver in 1976. Before taking the lead in the sitcom Two Guys and a Girl, he had a role in the Canadian serial opera Hillside during his early acting career. The Proposal, Blade: Trinity, Green Lantern, Deadpool, and Deadpool 2 were all huge box office successes for him after moving to Hollywood. Ryan had two previous marriages. In the beginning, he was married to American actress Scarlett Johansson from 2008 to 2011, and since 2012, he has been married to actress Blake Lively, with whom he has three daughters.
