The Massachusetts mother, Ana Walshe, age 39, went missing on January 1st. She was last saw on January 1, 2023, when she departed for a business trip and was supposed to fly to Washington, D.C. Brian Walshe, the husband of Ana, reported her missing on January 4, 2023. In 2021, Brian, age 46, was found guilty of art fraud.

Initially, police assumed there was no connection between Brian’s past and Ana’s disappearance. According to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, however, Brian was arrested on January 8 for deceiving the police.

According to CBS Boston, Brian Walshe will likely be arraigned in Quincy District Court on January 9. WBZ-TV has acquired a voicemail between Brian and one of Ana’s acquaintances in which he inquires about his wife.

Ana Walshe, a native of Massachusetts, has been missing for almost a week. She allegedly left her home on New Year’s Day to fly to Washington, D.C. from Logan International Airport.

However, the authorities suspect she did not board the airplane. On January 1, around 4:00 a.m. local time, she supposedly scheduled a ridesharing, but it could not be confirmed whether she really boarded the car.

Brian, the spouse of Anas, reported her as missing three days after her departure on New Year’s Day. Following an initial examination, it was determined that Brian was a convicted art forger.

On Sunday, Brian Walshe was detained for allegedly deceiving law enforcement. The police reported,

“During the course of that investigation, police developed cause to believe that her husband Brian Walshe had committed the crime of misleading police investigators.”

When he sold two phoney Andy Warhol artworks to a South Korean bidder on eBay in 2021, Brian pleaded guilty to federal fraud charges.

He took the original paintings from a buddy and said he would sell them for a profit. However, the buddy was unable to locate Brian and neither the money nor the paintings were recovered.

According to court records, Brian also sold counterfeit paintings on eBay to a South Korean bidder, who later discovered that the artworks lacked authenticity marks.

Brian is reportedly responsible for around $80,000 in overall fraud. Brian was arrested in 2018, and he was convicted in 2021.

He was charged with wire fraud, interstate transportation for a fraudulent scheme, illegal financial activities, and possession of converted commodities.

Alissa Kirby, a friend of Ana Walshe, confirmed that she intended to embark on a business trip to Washington, D.C. Kirby added,

“Honestly, I’m scared. Really, really scared. She’s a loving and loyal wife and mother of three beautiful boys. I know in my heart, that of her choice, she would not go a day without speaking to her husband and her kids.”

According to reports, prosecutors discovered a knife and blood in the Walshe residence’s basement. Reportedly, Brian had also purchased $450 worth of cleaning materials.


WBZ-TV Recovered a Voicemail Sent By Brain

WBZ-TV obtained a voicemail sent by Brian to one of Ana’s friends. Authorities found the voicemail was received on Wednesday, the day Ana Walshe’s husband reported her missing. Brian is audible stating,

“Good afternoon, this is Brian Walshe. I hope all is going well. I was just reaching out to basically everybody I could. Ana hasn’t been in touch for a few days. If you know anyone that may have had contact with her, you know I am trying to call everyone. I am sorry to bother you. I am sure everything is fine.”

Peter Kirby, a family friend of the Walshes, commented on the occurrence.

“This is absolutely heartbreaking.”

Peter stated that the last time he had seen Brian was on January 5. Brian and Ana Walshe, according to Kirby, thought that 2023 would be “their year.” Moreover, he added,

“Our dear friend Brian is in this awful situation where he is terrified and heartbroken and stuck in an endless loop of the unknown while the internet decides he’s the bad guy.”

The state is presently caring for the couple’s children, according to the authorities. Additionally, CBS Boston reports that police are executing a search warrant at the Walshes’ home. Supposedly, investigators were observed removing boxes of evidence from the residence. Some even possessed shovels. In addition, they seized Brian’s grey Volvo minivan as evidence.
