Big Bet Episode 5 Recap
As the grand opening of the Bolton Casino gets closer, Moo-sik and his team get ready to bid on the hotel before the event. But the mediator, Mr. Jeon, points out that many people put money down for their bids more than a year ago. This is the same thing that Min Seok-jun told Moo-sik at the end of the last episode.
Moo-sik tells him that he will “make his move” if he doesn’t get what he wants, so Jeon has no choice but to keep the wheel turning and think about what to do. Mr. Jeon is upset that Moo-sik sends a deposit of 100 million pesos right away instead of following the rules.
Moo-late sik’s arrival causes problems again, but he just can’t accept defeat. In the end, he buys the casino outright from the three other companies that had worked together to try to win it. Jung-pal, meanwhile, can’t stop thinking about his girlfriend, So-Jung. He asks Moo-sik to help him get her transferred from the Casabee Hotel, where she works now, to their new hotel.
Chil-gu plans to move to Caliz soon after joining up with Seok-jun, so he meets up with his friend Yoon-gi, who works at the Korean embassy in Manila. Yoon-gi tells his friends not to do business with the owner of the casino and offers to help them if they need it.
So-jun is moved to the new hotel, but their first meeting shows that her relationship with Jung-pal is doomed. She and Philip, Sang-friend, gu’s are looking at each other, which is a sign of trouble that Jung-pal hasn’t noticed yet.
People who work as “honeybees” are introduced as a new part of the casino world. People who have lost all their money in a casino are not allowed to leave. Instead, they have to work to bring in more customers. Professor Na is one of these people stuck in the cycle. He plans to pay off all of his debts by introducing a financier to Moo-sik.
Professor Na is setting up a time to meet with Jeong Seok-woo, and Moo-sik is getting to know their newest client. He upgrades his family’s stay at their new hotel and keeps track of his wealth, which reveals that he is the CEO of Woosam Precision Machines, which has made 81 billion won in profit and has no debt. Moo-sik plays a long game with him, which leads him to his planned casino in the end. Professor Na gets what is due to him, and then he leaves.
Moo-sik gradually gets him to play big because he sees it as an investment. He finally wins him over by giving him some chips to use in the game and helping him get back to Korea as a winner.
In the meantime, the news that two Korean tourists were shot by Filipinos during the day has upset the Korean Embassy in the Philippines. They think about putting Korean police officers in charge of the case and decide to bring it to the attention of higher-ups so that it can be backed up.
Soon, Seok-woo will contact Moo-sik again because he plans to go see him again. The second player’s plan seems to have worked, so the two of them decide to go back to the gold club.
Big Bet Episode 5 Ending Explanation
So-Jung notices Ms. Ko, the CEO of Pastella, while she is working at the new hotel. A young model causes trouble at the hotel in front of Ms. Ko, which Philip takes care of. Later, he and So-Jung have lunch with the CEO, and So-Jung tries to get her to like her by being nice to her.
So-Jung and Philip hook up, which was to be expected since So-Jung keeps denying that she is seeing Jung-pal. So-Jung can’t stop talking about Ms. Ko after the time they spent together. She also wants to know more about her life. They also give the impression that there’s a rumor going around about her, but they don’t say it outright. At that moment, Jung-pal calls her, but she doesn’t answer because she doesn’t know that he’s waiting downstairs with flowers to meet her. Jung-pal gets the hint when he sees her silhouette against the window. He throws the bouquet away and leaves.
Son Suk-character ku’s finally shows up as the new Korean police officer in the Philippines, which has been a long time coming. Yoon-gi comes to get him, and on the way back, before the credits start to roll, the two seem to get along well.
Review of Big Bet Episode 5
The show had been building up to Son Suk-much-anticipated ku’s arrival for a while, so when he finally shows up at the end, the mood changes right away. It might have something to do with how long they had to wait, but now that he’s here, you can already expect to see big changes in how the story is told. Since the beginning, the show’s regular main characters have been set, even though new ones are added in almost every episode. So far, this hasn’t let us get close to any of the characters except Moo-sik, and even then, only just.
The fifth episode marks the beginning of something new. During this chapter, the story stuck to a single timeline and didn’t shake things up by going back and forth in time with different narrations. Choi Min-(who sik’s plays Moo-sik) view of the whole casino scene draws our attention. It also lets us understand Lee Dong-(who hwi’s plays Jung-pal) character for the first time.
While previous episodes’ explanations of casino terms were all over the place because of how often the calendar changed, today’s episode takes its time to explain the concept laid out for us, giving us an interesting and focused look at what’s going on inside.
