Between Us Episode 9 Recap and Highlights: Dean asks Win to check on Team, who was getting nervous before the swim test, at the beginning of Between Us episode 9. Win moves Team away from the other Swim Club members. A and Sea make fun of Vee for putting on way too much sunscreen, but he still runs to meet Prince, who is the brand ambassador for the sunscreen.

Win asks Team how he’s doing and tells him to be confident. He then gives him a hug to get him going. When Win says that he will always watch over Team, Team starts to cry. Team says that he will talk to Win about what happened when Win is ready. Win tries to lighten the mood by kissing Team on the lips and wishing them luck. Team feels embarrassed and leaves to go back to the pool, and Win goes after them.

A Story of Bee, Prince, and Team at the Swim Club

Bee meets Prince in the men’s room, and the actor helps Bee’s boyfriend put sunscreen on his face. He kisses Prince, but Prince starts to wonder if they really have a future together, given how famous Prince is and how that affects their relationship. Bee worries that Prince is way out of his league and that the actor was just getting used to a nobody like Bee.

The two tell each other how they really feel about each other and decide to keep it a secret until they are ready. On another occasion, Manow, Pharm, and Prince are at the Swim Club to help Team and Bee. Team looks to Win for support and jumps into the pool. They finish the race first, followed by Bee and the others.

Their fan cheers for the swimmers, and Team is hoping to win. Team thinks about his friend who died that night, and he gives his gold medal to him. The seniors in the swim club give Team high marks, and Phruek suggests that they have a party at the resort. Dean says that Win paid for the one-night trip that Team took.

Back at home, Waan is playing an online game with T-Rex, whose real name is Tul, and the student reveals more information about him by accident. Waan can’t pick on them because Tul calls himself Tee to confuse him. The next day, Win sends Team away so that he and his family can spend the holidays together. Before Team goes back home to see his parents, he and Team flirt.

Team’s Struggle to Move On After Losing a Childhood Friend

Team has a good time at lunch with his parents. His mother tells him to go pay his childhood friend a visit, and Team gets tense. Win’s whole family feels awkward around each other before their first meal together in a while. Waan doesn’t start eating because of the awkward atmosphere, and Wiew is also uneasy.

That night, A and Sea tell Bee about the actor Bee is now dating. Bee says that he will take things with Prince one day at a time. The three of them then have fried chicken and drinks to celebrate the New Year, and Prince joins them even though he is tired from his shoot. Prince falls asleep in Bee’s bed, so the business student tells his friends to leave so the actor can rest.

Bee helps Prince clean his face while he sleeps. At the same time, Team calls Win to wish her a happy new year. Team meets the mother of a childhood friend, and they talk about Ton in a way that isn’t very pleasant. Later that night, Team asks his parents to let him sleep with them so they can help him stop having nightmares. Team tells his parents that Ton has died, and they help him feel a little better.

Team’s Journey to Come to Terms with a Tragic Past

Team goes to Ton’s grave the next day and gives his gold medal to his dead childhood friend. Team breaks down when he talks to his friend about the accident and asks Ton if he has forgiven him. When Ton’s mother comes to clean up the tombstone, he says sorry and then runs away. Team starts crying in pain when he hears her talking to Ton’s tombstone about how she wishes he hadn’t come to play with them.

Wiew asks Win about Team when they get back home, which makes Win call Team. Wiew teases Win about being in love with Team, but Win gets scared when he hears Team crying on the other end of the phone. Win rides his bike fast through the rain to his hometown to meet Team.

Team is still crying at Ton’s grave when Win finds him. He feels guilty about Ton’s death. He tells Win what happened and asks himself why he didn’t die that night. Win takes Team to a hotel, and Team tells his parents he will be spending the night away from home.

Win drove all the way from Bangkok to see Team when it was dangerous. This worries Team. Win says that Team did the right thing by calling him and that he’ll be there whenever Team needs him. Win tells the couple how happy he is that Team is okay as they hug.

Between Us Episode 9 Review

Wow, after watching this episode I have so many questions. First, why do Team’s parents seem homophobic, and why is Team upset that Win didn’t introduce him to his parents when Team was too shy to tell his parents about his possible “boyfriend”?

Second, how did Team spend the whole day in a cemetery without telling his parents? And how did they not worry about his safety if Win could drive from Bangkok to Team in just two hours?

Another question is why both Ton’s birth and death dates are 500 years in the future. If this Thai BL takes place 500 years from now, why are they still using technology from today?

The episodes keep coming out, and we’re finally getting to Team’s troubled past. I hope that the next episodes show more closeness between BounPrem since that’s what fans like most about them. But the love story between Bee and Prince in this episode is good, and I think they are both very cute.
