Call Me Kat is filled with performers that melt our hearts with nostalgia. The 2021 series stars Mayim Bialik, who was seen by many in the 1990s sitcom Blossom. Kyla Pratt, a fellow child actress, is most known for her roles in The Proud Family, One-on-One, and other films.
Who could forget the late Leslie Jordan, who captivated the hearts of Will & Grace viewers over the show’s run? Several months after Leslie died in a vehicle accident during the third season of Call Me Kat, his character’s mother, portrayed by comedian Vicki Lawrence, was introduced.

Many recall growing up with Vicki every week on The Carol Burnett Show and Mama’s Family when she co-starred with Carol Burnett.
Off-screen, people may be unaware that Vicki has been married for over half a century or that her TV sister is the cause of their union. Continue reading to find out who Vicki Lawrence’s spouse is currently!
Vicki Lawrence has been married twice; information on her present spouse
At the height of her popularity on The Carol Burnett Show, Vicki wed country singer Bobby Russell at the age of 23. Vicki and Bobby wed in 1972 and formed a creative collaboration shortly thereafter.
During the first year of their marriage, they worked on “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia,” a song about a guy who was allegedly murdered for a crime he did not commit.
The song “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia” topped the charts. In 1973, Vicki included the song on her self-titled album. Unfortunately, the couple separated following the release of Vicki’s record, and she estimated that their marriage lasted “approximately 10 minutes.”
After the dissolution of her marriage to Bobby, Vicki concentrated on her job on The Carol Burnett Show. Eventually, she met her real love, Al Schultz, at her place of employment.
Al worked as a makeup artist for Marilyn Monroe and Doris Day in Hollywood before getting a position on The Carol Burnett Show. Carol apparently snatched up Al after recognizing his charms.

Vicki said to The Hollywood Reporter, “Carol helped me find my spouse.” “Al Schultz had recently joined the cosmetics union, and Carol was seated in her dressing room when Al passed by.
She informed her secretary that he was adorable and that she want to have him in her program. Carol is substantially responsible for most of my adult experiences.”
Al and Vicki were drawn together by Carol’s choice, and they wed on November 16, 1974. They subsequently had two children, Garrett and Courtney, and have been happily married ever since.
Is Carol Burnett related to Vicki Lawrence?
Vicki has frequently cited Carol as one of her greatest supports. Although they are not related, the big sister/little sister relationship between the comedians feels pretty natural.
Carol chose Vicki to portray her younger sister after 18-year-old Vicki informed her in a letter that they resembled one another.
After receiving the letter, Carol went to Inglewood, California to see her perform at the Fireman’s Ball at the Hollywood Race Track. Carol encouraged her second husband, Joe Hamilton, to take her to the event, despite being pregnant at the time.
“She used to tell a humorous anecdote about her husband asking, ‘What the heck is she, a jockey?’ while she was driving down the interstate.” Carol said, “You know what? I have a feeling. I’m pregnant; just indulge me.'”
After the Ball, Carol awarded Vicki with a position on The Carol Burnett Show and continued to support her while they collaborated on the show.
Vicki stated that her mentor “saved my job” in 1975 when CBS almost fired her for being pregnant with her kid. Fortunately, Carol stepped in and instructed the network to “Bring Vicki back” so that the “Mama” skits could resume.
