Season 2 of SK8 The Infinity has been announced after a long wait of almost a year. A trailer announcing the news was uploaded to the official SK8 the Infinity Twitter account. It was also announced that an OVA episode of SK8 The Infinity would be released alongside the new season.

Studio BONES, the studio behind Fullmetal Alchemist and My Hero Academia, is returning to produce the second season of SK8 The Infinity, with many of the original crew members returning as well.

Studio BONES held a week-long celebration of SK8 the Infinity in Japan beginning on August 2 and concluding on August 14; therefore, fans were anticipating a grand finale. According to reports, Season 2 was announced during the events’ last live stream, and it was confirmed on Twitter shortly after.

At the moment, there is no official date for the release of SK8 the Infinity season 2, but fans can be happy that Reki and Langa will be back on screen soon.

SK8 The Infinity Story

Anime’s original series SK8 The Infinity (stylized as SK) was created by studio BONES, the same group responsible for such hits as Eureka Seven, Soul Eater, and Full Metal Alchemist. The story follows a group of dedicated, hard-core skaters in Okinawa who compete in secret, after-hours events.

The “S” races take place in a disused mine, complete with derelict mine carts and other perilous obstacles. Reki, a high school student with an intense love for skateboarding and a penchant for racing, attends a race one night and suffers a broken board and arm.

Since he can’t train, Reki befriends Langa, a new student who, although having never skated before, urgently needs cash. Before he knows it, Langa is entered into his first race, where he may use a “trap card” to his advantage.
