In What Manner will the World Cup 2022 draw be Conducted?
On the basis of the latest FIFA world rankings, which were issued on March 31st, the 32 qualified teams will be broken up into four groups. The three open positions will be filled with a placeholder.
Hosts Qatar will automatically be placed in Group A alongside the other seven best-ranked nations at the FIFA World Cup, as is traditional.
Teams from each of the pots will be chosen into eight groups of four for Groups A through H.
It’s not allowed to have more than one team from each region, save in the case of Europe (UEFA), which has 13 seats allocated to its members.
