David Jude Jolicoeur was an American rapper and producer who was born on September 21, 1968 and died on February 12, 2023. He also went by the stage names Trugoy the Dove, Plug 2, and Dave. He was best known as a member of the hip-hop group De La Soul.

Jolicoeur was born in Brooklyn, New York, on September 21, 1968, to Haitian-American parents. However, he grew up in the small town of East Massapequa on Long Island.
In his teens, he went to Amityville Memorial High School on Long Island. There, he met Vincent Mason, Kelvin Mercer, and Paul Houston, whom he became friends with.
After being in different local groups as solo artists, Jolicoeur, Mason, and Mercer eventually decided to make their own rap group. They called it De La Soul and used the stage names Trugoy the Dove, Maseo, and Posdnuos.
