Early Life and Career Prior to HGTV
Tarek El Moussa Net Worth: Tarek el Moussa was born on August 21, 1981, in Long Beach, California, and raised there. He is of Arab and European descent. He is partially Middle Eastern. His father was reared Catholic in Lebanon and later Egypt in the Middle East.
His mother is Belgian, and my father migrated to Europe in his late teens. Born in the United States is Tarek. His sister’s name is Dominique. Tarek has a wonderful connection with his mother, father, and stepfather, who all reside nearby and occasionally assist with his children.
Tarek is a house flipper and real estate agent in Orange County, California. He is well-known for his ability to purchase properties at auction, renovate them, and then sell them for a profit. At age 21, he obtained his real estate licence and began flipping properties immediately.
Through the real estate market, he met his future wife, Christina Haack. They rapidly formed a partnership, with Christina concentrating on design and Tarek overseeing renovations. The economy thrived until 2008, when it crashed.
Tarek and Christina infamously went from living in a $6,000-per-month mansion to a $700-per-month apartment in the aftermath of the financial crisis.
During the housing market meltdown, Tarek and Christina managed The El Moussa Group in Orange County, California, a region with one of the worst foreclosure rates in the nation. Tarek, Christina, and their partner Pete De Best paid $115,000 for their first investment property in Santa Ana.
After selling the home for a profit of $34,000, the three partners divided the proceeds and continued flipping properties, extending their real estate investment firm into Arizona and Nevada.
Tarek and Christina wed in 2009 and have two children, a daughter called Taylor Reese and a son named Brayden James.
HGTV and Rising Star
As the global economy rebounded, Tarek and Christina’s real estate business flourished. In 2011, Tarek recruited a buddy to record him and Christina flipping a property from beginning to end with the intention of editing the footage into an audition tape.
The footage and Christina’s Instagram page drew the attention of Pie Town Productions and HGTV executives. Christina and Tarek inked a contract with HGTV in 2012, and their show Flip or Flop debuted on the network in April 2013.
The show follows the couple through the often difficult process of bidding on a house, remodeling and restoring it to make it marketable, and finally flipping it. Tarek oversees the renovation, while Christina is responsible for design and maintaining the timetable.
Christina and Tarek recorded 92 episodes over seven seasons between 2013 and 2017. The duo gained immense popularity.
HGTV announced Tarek’s new show, Flipping 101 with Tarek El Moussa, in 2020. The show follows Tarek as he instructs real estate beginners on the keys of successful flipping.
Clinical Diagnosis of Cancer
Ryan Reade, a registered nurse and admirer of the programme, wrote to the production company in 2013. She suggested a doctor investigate a prominent bulge on Tarek’s neck, which she observed while watching Flip or Flop.
It was identified as cancer. Tarek was diagnosed with cancers of the testicles and thyroid. The nurse likely saved Tarek’s life by allowing him to get treatment before the condition grew severe.
The El Moussas congratulated Reade in a video that is shown on HGTV.com, after Reade contacted producers.
What is Tarek el Moussa’s income from HGTV?
In the first several seasons of their show, Christina and Tarek earned a total of $10,000 per episode. This equated to around $130,000 for the season. By the third season, their remuneration each episode had increased to $40,000, or around $600,000 per season.
Separation from Christina
Unfortunately, Tarek and Christina broke up in May 2016. Soon after an incident in which police were called to their house because Tarek ran after an altercation and was supposedly suicidal, they separated.
Tarek said that he was never suicidal and that he only carried a firearm on a trip to defend himself from wild animals. In January 2017, divorce papers were filed. The future of their programme and their co-owned real estate firm, The El Moussa Group, remained questionable after their divorce.
In January of 2018, they officially divorced. After the divorce, they were able to shoot the eighth season of Flip or Flop and appear to have an amiable co-parenting relationship.
The El Moussa Group was dissolved after their divorce and is now known as Tarek and Associates.
In December of 2018, Christina married English television presenter Ant Anstead. The birth of their son, Hudson Anstead, occurred on September 6, 2019. Two streets away from their wedding, they purchased a $4,1 million home in Newport Beach, California.
Relationship with Heather Rae Young of Selling Sunset
Since July 2019, Tarek has been dating Heather Rae Young, a real estate agent for the Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles who appears on the Netflix series Selling Sunset.
Heather is the most distracted of the Selling Sunset real estate agents, although this may be due to the fact that real estate is a side profession for her. Heather models for the modelling agency EMG.
She has more than 600,000 Instagram followers. She was the February 2010 Playboy Playmate of the Month. Heather is a native of Southern California, like Tarek. At the age of 18, she began her career as a professional model.
She specialised on high-profile and rich customers as a real estate agent, including celebrities, singers, and athletes. Heather is deeply committed to animal rights. She is dedicated to maintaining a healthy body and diet.
She enjoys running with her three dogs Sebastian, Baxter, and Brandy on the beach. During the second season of Selling Sunset, Heather cannot stop gushing about Tarek, their connection, how much she loves him and his children, and how Taylor is one of her closest friends.

Real Estate Property
Tarek said in late April 2020 that he was leaving the property he purchased after separating from his ex-wife in favour of a new place in Newport Beach with Heather; however, they ultimately withdrew their offer owing to defects in the home.
Since Tarek’s previous residence had already been sold, they discovered an alternative: a sleek, contemporary beach house just one block from the ocean that they want to rent for at least a year.
Heather also keeps a residence in West Hollywood, which is located closer to her business on Sunset Strip.
