Lori Greiner’s birth date is specified as December 9, 1969, in Chicago, Illinois. She was raised in Chicago by her real estate developer father and psychologist mother on the Near North Side.
At age eight, her parents separated. She attended Loyola University Chicago and graduated with a degree in communications, concentrating on journalism. While she was attending college, she worked as a reporter for the Chicago Tribune. Her first career goal was to write plays. She was in the business of creating and peddling costume jewelry.

Greiner got her start in the industry when she designed an earring case out of plastic that could hold 100 pairs of earrings on its sliding rods. She made a trial run of the product and J.C. Penney liked it enough to buy it for the holidays.
Greiner borrowed $300,000 and repaid the money over a period of 18 months. While she “never set out to be a serial inventor,” her success on the HSN led her along that route anyway. She moved to QVC the next year, and in 2000 she introduced a slew of brand new goods.

Greiner started appearing on Shark Tank in 2012. Two years later, her bet on Scrub Daddy, maker of a household sponge that changes texture, proved to be a smashing hit. She achieved almost 2 million in QVC sales in 2014.
After becoming the “largest success story in Shark Tank history” with over $100 million in sales, Scrub Daddy announced its resignation in 2016. The Squatty Potty, Readers, Paint Brush Cover, Hold Your Haunches, Drop-Stop, FiberFix, Simply Fit Board, and Screened were among the other products she had purchased.
Simply Fit Board by Greiner, the Scrub Daddy, and the Sleep Styler were three of the biggest hits on Shark Tank in the following year. In 2014, Greiner wrote the best-selling book “Invent it, Sell it, Bank it! — Make Your Million Dollar Idea into a Reality.”
Lori collaborated with Charitybuzz to raise more than $126,000 for her favorite organizations, including The Trevor Project, Kind Campaign, CASA for Children, and Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.
