Cameron Jerrell Newton, an American football quarterback, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States of America on May 11, 1989.

He has 11 years of playing experience, largely with the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He is second in the NFL in terms of quarterback rushing yards and first in terms of quarterback rushing touchdowns.
Before joining Auburn University, Newton played college football for Florida. Newton won both the Heisman Award and the 2011 BCS National Championship Game as a junior. He was selected by the Panthers in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Newton had a significant impact and was voted offensive rookie of the year after breaking the rookie records for quarterback passing and running yards in his first season.
