The glitz and glamour of the real estate world collide with the complexities of love in Netflix’s hit reality series, ‘Selling Sunset.’ Among the show’s standout couples is the dynamic duo of Mary Fitzgerald, a seasoned real estate agent, and Romain Bonnet, a charismatic French model.
As viewers eagerly follow their journey on and off-screen, the burning question lingers: Are Mary and Romain still together? In this article, we delve into the latest updates on the relationship status of this high-profile ‘Selling Sunset’ couple.
Are Mary and Romain Still Together?
Yes! Following their marriage, Mary Catherine Fitzgerald became Mary Catherine Bonnet, and she even changed her Instagram handle to match her new surname. She and Romain have frequently revealed glimpses of their love for fans, taking fans behind the scenes on holidays, press appearances, and photoshoots.
The couple’s journey in Season 7 of the show was not easy to watch, yet they withstood the anguish while sticking by each other. Mary and Romain discovered they were pregnant at the start of the season. Fans of the program are probably aware that Mary and Romain have long desired to have children.
They attempted to preserve embryos in season 6 of the program in the hopes of one day starting their own family, however, the attempt was unsuccessful. As a result, Mary’s unexpected pregnancy was very wonderful news.
Later, Mary and Romain (who were working on the new Oppenheim office in Los Angeles) announced their pregnancy to their coworkers, who congratulated them. However, during a regular ultrasound, they learned that the much-anticipated baby had died.
The couple was upset by the news, especially Mary, who had been looking forward to being a mother again. Despite their initial anguish, it was clear that Mary and Romain would not be broken by this development.
Mary and Romain’s Love Story
Mary Fitzgerald and Romain Bonnet’s love story began when the latter flew to Los Angeles, California, in search of a home.
However, many people were surprised by how much younger Romain is than Mary, noting that her son Austin Babbitt is only about four years older than the Netflix star’s partner.
However, it is clear that Mary and Romain do not regard their age difference as a reason to be concerned about their relationship.
As it turns out, Mary and Romain married on March 9, 2018, at the Ventura Courthouse, some 19 months before the grandiose wedding on October 12, 2019.
The couple’s time on the show has been consistent over the years. The two had repeatedly stood by each other through thick and thin, even when Romain was in conflict with Davina Potratz over the engagement ring he had given to Mary. Romain has also joined The Oppenheim Group since marrying Mary, working for the company’s building needs when he is not undertaking modeling tasks.
Do Mary and Romain Have Children?
Despite Mary’s hesitations, the couple has been public about their wish to grow their family.
“I’m quite candid about it. We tried embryo freezing but it didn’t work. “We need to do another one, we started another round,” the reality star revealed to Us Weekly in December 2022. “However, I believe you’ll see why and what happened in Season 6.” We didn’t get to finish that one, so we’re just trying naturally now.”
The vice president of Oppenheim Group went on to remark that she believes her husband will be an “incredible” father.
“He’s going to be the best dad ever.” I had some reservations because I did it on my own the last time, but he’s going to be fantastic. He’s very caring, responsible, and attentive, and he’ll be amazing with a child,” she added.
Mary announced in March 2023 that she and Romain had had a sad miscarriage after falling pregnant naturally on their January 2023 honeymoon in Bali.
“We did get pregnant, and unfortunately that didn’t work out,” she revealed on March 31 via Instagram. “On top of the miscarriage, I also had what they apparently call a septic miscarriage, so I had to go into surgery for that.”
Mary and Romain remain optimistic despite the fact that she “needed a minute” to digest the situation.
“To say the least, it’s been difficult,” she added. “I suppose the reason… I’m speaking out now because I recognize how widespread this is, how many people suffer through it, and how difficult it is.”
