His coworkers are happy for him, but his ex-wife is mad and dances on a street sign pole to show it.
Detective Geum’s daughter, Yoona, doesn’t like that her dad took out a loan to help someone else. Detective Geum bothers Dr. Shin by asking him to lunch, and they are given a case about a man who doesn’t know what his wife looks like.
Investigation Into a Murder and Face Blindness
At a mortuary, a doctor and a detective look at the burned body of a woman named Thoung, but her face and hands are not clear. The victim’s sister says that the body is that of Thoung, but based on the tattoo, she can’t be sure. Lee Jong Kloo’s husband says that he and his wife fought over money and that after the fight, the woman went to stay with her friend Hoai.
Dr. Shin, who has trouble seeing people’s faces, confirms that the victim is the right person and is asked to help with the investigation. The victim’s best friend, Hoai, is an illegal immigrant. When her boyfriend finds the body in a closet, Hoai is a suspect. With the help of Dr. Shin, Detective Geum (Cha Tae-Hyun) tries to talk to Hoai’s boyfriend, but Vietnamese workers beat him up for being rude. In the meantime, Dr. Shin looks for proof that the detective did something wrong.
A Tense Moment Between Captain Seul and Detective Geum
The boyfriend of the victim’s friend, Hoai, is brought in for questioning. He shows a text message from Hoai saying she’s leaving and not to look for her. It turns out that Hoai owed the victim money, and he and the victim had a fight before the murder. Girls at school say they saw Hoai on the day she went missing, and the police are using traffic cameras to find her.
Captain Seul gets in trouble with the head of her group, but Dr. Shin tells her to stand up to bullies. Aunt Shin is scared when she finds brain tissue in Dr. Shin’s fridge, but he doesn’t think much of it. The captain and detective have dinner together and get to know each other, but when the captain’s ex-wife calls, he gets nervous and leaves the restaurant.
Detectives Investigate a Case of Mistaken Identity and a Mysterious Freezer
In this part, Dr. Shin, Captain Seul, and Detective Geum keep looking into who killed the man. Captain Seul and the detective try to get in touch with a suspect named Jong Koo but can’t. Later, Captain Seul finds a picture at the crime scene, which helps him figure out that the victim’s name was Hoai, not Thoung.
Detective Geum has an accident and is taken to the hospital. Using an MRI, they find out that Hoai is dead. Dr. Shin and Detective Geum go to Jong Koo’s house to check it out, but they get stuck in a freezer. As they try to call for help, they start to fight, and Dr. Shin’s headache brings back a painful memory from his past.
Revelations About the Mysterious Doctor and the Prisoner

In the meantime, a mysterious doctor is seen talking about a book with a prisoner. The prisoner suggests adding parts about cannibalism to the book.
The prisoner also talks about Kim Yoo Jung and seems to know something about the relationship between the publisher and a coworker. Dr. Shin’s aunt finds a letter in a mailbox and calls Dr. Park. Dr. Park tells her that the mysterious prisoner is convicted murderer Hwang Dong Woo. Dr. Park gets scared, so the detective and Dr. Shin have to stay warm by huddling together in the freezer.
