Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Episode 7 Recap

Jang Uk arrives in the gambling den to help Seo Yul, but he loses consciousness, angering him. Park Dang-gu worries about Jang Uk’s rage and the war that may result from Seo Yul’s Cheonbugwan-related misfortune.

Jang Uk kills all Cheonbugwan wizards and takes Seo Yul to Sejukwon for treatment. He races inside Cheonbugwan to find Jin Mu, as Songrim supports him. The royal family has a greater problem—Seo Yul’s father—so they can’t blame Jang Uk.

Jin Mu orders all Cheonbugwan magicians to stop Jang Uk, but he is unstoppable. Park Jin arrives with Songrim’s mages to support Jang Uk’s decision after the crown prince reminds him of why he has been silent for three years.

Jang Uk pauses once Jin Mu is presented to him. Jin Mu is then informed of Jang Uk’s desire and told to save Seo Yul.

Jin Mu realizes he must ask Jin Ho-Kyung for help and bows down to her. Jin Ho-Kyung refuses until the King commands her to save Seo Yul.

Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Episode 7 Recap, Review and Ending Explanation

Ho-Kyung laughs at Jang Uk’s trick that drove her to help him save Seo Yul, which makes Jin Mu realize that he was used from the start. Jang Uk warns him that if Seo Yul doesn’t survive, he’ll die.

While looking at the bloodworm in his energy core, Bu-Yeon worries about the unconscious Seo Yul. When she puts her hand on him, Seo Yul appears and she remembers. Heo Yoon-ok stops her from touching him again.

Dang-gu informs her that Seo Yul may be cured soon as she contemplates what transpired. Ho-Kyung tells Jang Uk that she will only assist him to save Seo Yul if he sends Bu-Yeon back to Jinyowon, which he accepts.

Heo Yeom assigns tasks and tells Jang Uk to work with the crown prince to save Seo Yul after finding a cure. Jang Uk is frustrated until Park Jin reminds him of his pledge to Ho-Kyung, which silences him.

He later visits Bu-Yeon without telling her about the transaction, but she knows. She helps save Seo Yul after Park Dang-gu and Heo Yeom explain the plan.
Heo Yeom will have Jin Cho-Yeon take Seo Yul’s last energy to Jinyowon in a Seo family water wick as Seo Yul and the firebird cannot be relocated. The bloodworm will unleash all of Seo Yul’s torrential energy, then remove it from her body and pass the wick back into her.

Cho-Yeon is safe because the technique only harms pregnant women and blood parasite carriers. Dang-gu is shocked when he realizes she may be pregnant. Hearing this, Bu-Yeon volunteers to save Seo Yul.

Heo Yeom approves the plan after Jang Uk shows them the gold he has saved over the past three years.

He pours Seo Yul’s last vitality into the water wick and gives it to Bu-Yeon to carry in her mouth before she runs to Jinyowon with Jang Uk. She and Go Won are astonished at the crown prince’s true identity.
Jang Uk discovers that he is the eunuch Bu-Yeon called to save the turtle, while he realizes she had been fussing about him all along. Jang Uk is jealous when he hears their chat, but they eventually remove the bloodworm from Bu-Yeon.

They run back to Sejukwon, where she saves Seo Yul by putting the water wisk in his mouth. After celebrating, Jang Uk and Bu-Yeon realize they must part. Jang Uk discovers Bu-Yeon knew about his bargain with Ho-Kyung.
He hurts Bu-Yeon and drives her away. Master Lee rejoices because Jang Uk and Go Won saved Seo Yul. Jin Mu rewards Go Won with Jang Uk’s constellation chart, proving he is the King’s Star.

Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Episode 7 Review

This episode was worth waiting a week for, but the small clues that point to a sad ending are already breaking our hearts, and we’re not ready for this.

This episode was full of information and surprises, which made me feel like I was really in Alchemy of Souls, which is all I want from this sequel. And while I’m glad that this episode gave us a lot of information, I’m really not ready for where we’re going.

As the fear keeps getting worse, this episode finally made Jang Uk feel better and showed that Jin Bu-Yeon is the real mastermind who is using everyone like puppets. But that’s not enough for us to hate her, because she’s also a person who deserves to get her own back.
