Jeopardy!, one of the most popular syndicated game shows on television, will return with a new episode on September 28, 2022.

Season 39 of the show began on September 12, 2022, with the winner of the previous season’s final episode, Luigi de Guzman.

David Sibley, who returned to Wednesday’s episode after securing two victories this week, is currently on a winning streak. The two-day earnings of the Episcopal priest from Walla Walla, Washington, total $44,200.

David faced off against two new opponents in the most recent episode: Sam Wang, a statistics professor from Ithaca, New York, and Emily Hackbarth, a middle school counsellor from Ames, Iowa.

David Sibley’s second-round score was the sole reason for his victory today.

Off to New England, Hatchet Man, History, One-Named Rock Stars, Material, and I Long for Long “U” were the categories for the first round.

David came in third place in the first round. He earned $2,200 by giving 10 right answers and 4 wrong ones. Sam Wang got nine questions right and two wrong, earning him $2,600.

Emily Hackbarth was the winner of the first round. She got 14 questions right, and one of them was a True Daily Double. She got $7,600 because she gave no wrong answers.

The categories for the second round were Cliff Notes, A Letter Then a Word, The Right Brothers, The Actor’s Studio, Naturalists, and And the State Goes To.

In the Double Jeopardy round, Sam and Emily did their best, but they couldn’t beat David’s score. Sam made $7,800 and the other two made $8,800. (Emily.) On the other hand, David won $14,600 because he got two Daily Doubles and 11 correct answers.

The Final Jeopardy round was hard because no one could come up with the right answer. David had a higher score than Sam and Emily, so they couldn’t beat him in the final round. David played smartly because he bet less to keep the upper hand.

Final Jeopardy! results today

In the September 28 episode, the final round category was “World Rivers,” and the clue was:

“Both of these rivers are in the same country, have names that end with the same four letters, and flow into the Paraná River.”

Uruguay and Paraguay were the right answer to the last question.

None of the players answered correctly. Here’s a look at what happened at the end of Wednesday’s show:

David Sibley: $14,600 – $3,001 = $11,599 (What is Peru + Ecuador?) (3-day total: $55,799)

Emily Hackbarth: $8,800 – $6,000 = $2,800 (What are the Panama + ?)

Sam Wang: $7,800 – $7,700 = $100 (What are Congo & Zimbabwe?)

David has now won three days in a row and has a total score of $55,799. In the next episode, he will come back to defend his victory against two new players. He has been winning, but only time will tell if he can keep it up.

According to Walla Walla’s St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, David is a rector who works to help people’s “spiritual growth.” The man from South Carolina went to Furman University in Greenville, where he got his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in chemistry. He is married to Emily, who was born and raised in Western Washington. He is a big sports fan.

On Thursday, September 29, 2022, Ken Jennings will host the next episode of Season 39 of Jeopardy.
