Gal Gadot stated to ComicBook.com that DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran guaranteed her that they would collaborate on a future Wonder Woman film.

“I love playing Wonder Woman,” stated Gal Gadot in an interview. “It’s so close to and dear to my heart.”

She went on to say that the two heads of DC Studios verified Won.

When Could Wonder Woman 3 Be Released?

According to Digital Spy, we may now expect Wonder Woman 3 to be released in theaters in 2026. That pessimism stems from a number of issues, including the fact that Wonder Woman 3 has yet to be confirmed as part of Gunn’s DCU plans.

Going back to the beginning, a third Wonder Woman film was in the works with Gadot and original director Patty Jenkins, but the script was rejected by Warner Bros executives in December 2022. Jenkins then quit the project.

However, as the Gunn period began to take shape, Gal Gadot hinted that Wonder Woman 3 was in the works, telling ComicBook.com: “[Wonder Woman] is so close to and dear to my heart.” According to what I’ve heard from James and Peter, we’re going to work on Wonder Woman 3 together.”

The ride, however, does not come to an end. Only a week after Gadot’s words were made public, Variety claimed from sources with knowledge of the issue’ that Gunn and Safran have no such intentions, and that Wonder Woman 3 is not currently in development with Gadot or anybody else. It’s the post-Black Adam catastrophe of Henry Cavill all over again.

With the Gods and Monsters slate now set, there are plenty of other projects for DC to complete before adding more films. Movies like Superman: Legacy, The Brave and the Bold, and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow are already in the works.

If we had to guess, we’d think WW3 would be tacked onto this timeline, and because The Brave and the Bold is set to be released in 2025, Wonder Woman would most likely arrive in 2026. That is if it ever arrives.

Who Will Be in the Cast of Wonder Woman 3?

The official cast for Wonder Woman 3 has yet to be announced, but Gal Gadot’s appearance is confirmed.  In previous Wonder Woman films, major names like Chris Pine, Pedro Pascal, and Kristen Wigg have had minor roles.

What Will Happen in Wonder Woman 3?

Given how early the game is, there is no Wonder Woman 3 plot as of yet, but we assume Diana will be navigating another age in human history.

Wonder Woman 1 was set in 1918 during World War One, and Wonder Woman 2 was set in 1984, thus another time hop is likely. Diana’s journey has always been shaped by her perception of the human world and her naiveté.

Perhaps the next chapter of the novel will take place in the 1990s when technology was at its peak. It might follow in the footsteps of Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning and have a movie villain who threatens a technology takeover. In any case, she has a lot of opportunities to meet with people from different eras of history.

Alternatively, it might jump ahead to the present day. We last saw her when she assisted Batman and The Flash in the latter’s recent solo expedition, so we know she’s still alive.
