The Viking Wolf Ending Explained: Is Liv Capable of Murdering Her Werewolf Daughter?

Stig Sevendson’s “Viking Wolf” employs the same cliches that have been done and rehashed for every werewolf picture imaginable. There is nothing in this story that gives the impression that it is a unique piece of art. By noting that the film lacks innovation, we do not mean that it is unbearably boring to watch, but rather that it is far too bland to keep you captivated since you would have predicted the plot within the first few minutes.

The actors put on a fantastic show, but there are times when it feels like they are just meandering, with no aim or purpose. Conflicts that had the potential to pack a punch are carried out in such a way that they have a little lasting impact. So, let us explore what “Viking Wolf” has in store for us and try to understand the characters’ challenges and issues.

Viking Wolf Ending Explained

The film begins with a history of the lycanthrope infestation. Gudbrand Den Grimme, a sailor, entered an island and grabbed the werewolf from the vault in 1050. There were 20 Viking ships, and none of them survived. In the present, we see Thale, a young girl, eating popcorn with her sister and father when she is summoned to the bay by her pals.

She arrives at the place with a six-pack of beer from the refrigerator. There’s a party going on in the neighborhood, and folks are getting light. Elin notices her friend Jonas conversing with Thale. In jealousy, she asks him if they can speak privately elsewhere, and they go, leaving Thale alone to speak to the other people there.

They are treating her as if she is an outsider who has no right to be here. She leaves there, sensing the tension. On her way home, she notices Jonas and Elin talking and pauses to hear what they’re saying. Suddenly, a person emerges from the woods and pins her down.

Elin is drenched in blood after the figure vanishes. Thale, unable to contain herself, goes to assist Elin. Jonas is also present, and he is shaking somewhere in the distance. When Elin has led away, the figure reappears and strikes Thale, who is looking for it. Thale is completely terrified and crawls away from the apparition. When the cops arrive, they ask the victims what occurred.

They all come in the next morning to deliver their statements. Thale becomes agitated after seeing Elin in her surroundings and hallucinating her presence. Meanwhile, the authorities sent a sniffing dog to locate this animal and determine its identity. They all go into the forest in search of this beast. They are waiting for the animal to come out and show itself, especially after discovering the claw trapped in a tree.

When they finally locate the beast, it has attacked every member of the search party. Four of them were killed, and one was in a coma. Officer Liv is the only one surviving to tell the tale because someone had previously given her a silver bullet, which she used to dispatch the beast.

They had invited a veterinarian before heading to the forest, and he examined the animal’s body, deciding that it could not be a normal wolf and so had to be a werewolf. Liv and the vet make their way to the man who first warned her about the werewolf. He offers them more silver bullets and explains where the werewolf illness originated.

They plan to eliminate everyone infected with the virus in order to prevent the epidemic from spreading further. The search party member is murdered, and they discover that a bus has capsized due to an animal attack. Liv arrives as quickly as possible. She discovers that the wolf is actually Thale and is torn about murdering her. The vet recognizes this and asks if they may use a tranquilizer to put it to sleep for a time while they decide what to do.

Listening to the werewolf hunter, on the other hand, has convinced them that the only way to stop this is to kill the wolf. Jenny, Thale’s sister, has been in front of the wolf twice and it has done nothing to her. When the wolf is scared, it attacks everyone in its vicinity. Finally, Liv and her daughter Jenny are safe after the wolf is tranquilized.

In the film’s conclusion, we find Liv standing in front of the sleeping wolf, clutching a revolver with a silver bullet, attempting to murder her own daughter. The screen goes black just as we believe something is about to happen.

The police station fades in, and we see Liv attempting to return home. There is a picture of Thale on her bed, and she pulls a bullet from her pocket to place in front of her, presumably hinting that the wolf has not been killed.

Viking Wolf concludes on a conclusive note, however, there may still be uncertainties about Thale’s death as the wolf. Netflix has the film available for viewing.

Viking Wolf Reviews

Yet again the north was surprised with a good horror movie! Late in 22, we had Troll, and before that Dead snow. A young girl gets wounded in a werewolf attack in Norway. While her mum who is the police tries to hunt the werewolf the young girl starts to show..wolfy tendencies. Great practical effects that echo Rick Baker’s American werewolf and the CGI isn’t bad either.

Unfortunately, I watched the dubbed version which sounds..odd to be mild. But other than that it is a real treat for fans of Werewolf movies. Went in with low expectations and was really surprised! Got gore and atmosphere! Highly recommended.
