The Night Agent, an action-packed conspiracy thriller now streaming on Netflix, is your newest TV obsession.
The Night Agent is based on the novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk and stars Gabriel Basso as FBI agent Peter Sutherland, who is assigned to a gig so low-stakes that it’s practically a joke: a night shift covering phones that almost never ring in the basement of the White House… until one night, when he answers a call that propels him into a web of international intrigue involving a Russian threat and corruption at the highest levels of government.
All ten episodes of the first season are currently available on Netflix, and the show’s central plot is wrapped up fairly neatly by the finale; however, given streaming competitor Amazon’s success with action shows such as The Terminal List and Reacher, it would make sense for Netflix to renew The Night Agent for more episodes.

Will there be a The Night Agent Season 2?
Netflix has not yet decided whether to order a second season of The Night Agent, as the show only began streaming on March 23, and audience numbers play a significant factor in selecting whether projects receive further runway.
It also appears that The Night Agent was intended to be a limited series, but the same was true of prestige TV hits such as The White Lotus, Big Little Lies, and Fleabag, whose casts and creators all returned for a second season.
Who Will Join Season 2?
Gabriel Basso would reprise the role of Peter Sutherland, the titular agent. How Luciane Buchanan would play a role in future storylines as Rose Larkin is less clear.
