The premiere season of The Last of Us on HBO concluded on Sunday after nine weeks of emotional roller coaster rides for the audience. The show, starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, has proven to be a huge success for HBO, with millions of viewers tuning in every week.
Fans have grown attached to the show over the past few weeks, and many are dismayed that they will not be able to watch Joel and Ellie’s adventures for a long time.

The Last of Us Season 1 Bonus Episode Release Date and Time
The bonus episode for the first season of The Last of Us has already been made available on HBO Max. The finale was scheduled to air on March 12 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. And the additional episode was broadcast immediately after the finale.
The special episode takes viewers behind the scenes of the show’s production and includes interviews with the actors and staff. HBO has released a trailer for the same, which depicts the recreation of the plane crash sequence from the game.
Additional visuals show the creation of the clickers and Tess’ much-discussed death kiss. HBO announced the bonus episode with the following:
“Travel behind the scenes with the cast and crew of #TheLastofUs to explore how they brought the show to life in a special behind-the-scenes featurette.”
What Happened in The Last of Us Season 1 Final Episode?
In the last episode, a flashback depicts Ellie’s birth during a time when her mother was assaulted and bitten by an Infected runner, resulting in Ellie’s immunity to the Cordyceps infection.
Joel and Ellie arrive at Salt Lake City, where the Fireflies intend to create a cure, in the present day. Ellie is nonetheless captured and readied for surgery to remove her brain for study. Joel, unwilling to lose his daughter, kills the Fireflies and rescues Ellie.
The ending and extra episode are now available to view on HBO Max. To view the program, you must subscribe to the streaming service.

Will there be Season 2 of The Last of Us?
The program has already been renewed for a second season by HBO. When the first two episodes aired, the renewal was announced due to the astronomical ratings. The release date for the upcoming season has not yet been announced.
