Somebody Feed Phil Season 5 Release Date: Cast, Plot, and Season 6 Will Premiere Late This Year?

Jeremy Caroll

On January 12, 2018, Netflix released “Somebody Feed Phil,” a travel and food documentary. Each episode of the show, which is hosted by the show’s name-brand Philip Rosenthal, focuses on a different city and highlights the regional cuisine there. As a “spiritual successor” to Phil’s PBS project, I’ll Have What Phil’s Having, it was created.

Over the years, the series has been able to win a special place in the hearts of people who enjoy food and travel. The charismatic presenter’s numerous international journeys are enjoyed virtually by fans. Let’s now examine the specifics of “Somebody Feed Phil,” which has already had four seasons, in case there is a fifth.

Somebody Feed Phil Season 5 Release Date

On October 30, 2020, “Somebody Feed Phil” Season 4 made its Netflix debut. The series is comprised of five 46–63 minute episodes. On May 29, 2020, host Philip Rosenthal spoke with Variety about his plans for the future of the program. He stated that even after producing 28 episodes, “we still haven’t scratched the surface of the earth, including places like India,” as the next five episodes of the show will air in October.

A quick calculation shows that 22 of the 28 episodes from the 28-episode deal have already been broadcast for seasons 1 through 4. Six episodes have yet to be released on Netflix, as is obvious. Since Phil revealed that all of the episodes for the upcoming batch—the fifth season—have already been filmed, we anticipate having to wait little longer. The start of “Somebody Feed Phil’s” fifth season is anticipated to occur in the early months of 2021, according to our best guess.

Somebody Feed Phil Season 5 plot

The host of “Somebody Feed Phil,” Philip Rosenthal, visits a variety of cities around the world to try the local cuisine. In the fourth season, Phil travels to San Francisco and eats chocolate croissants, one of the city’s all-time favourite foods. In Rio de Janeiro, he partakes in a Carnival, eats churrascaria, drinks caipirinhas, and tries fruit feijoada.

Phil is in awe of Singapore’s stunning architecture and the vibrant hawker markets. Then Phil goes to the Mississippi Delta and eats steak, alligator, lobster, and ribs. Finally, he makes his way to Hawaii, where he engages in a variety of local activities and savours delicious food. The fifth season will maintain the same premise and follow Phil as he visits several fresh new restaurants.

Where Can I Watch Somebody Feed Phil Season 5 Online?

While the exact date of “Somebody Feed Phil” Season 5’s Netflix debut is unknown, it is safe to assume that it won’t happen before 2022. Although the filming schedule for the season is unknown, it is clear that no filming has yet occurred. Rosenthal, according to Fine Dining Lovers, was still considering travel destinations as recently as March. He was last seen in Los Angeles, where he was born and raised, on June 15.

The most episodes ever ordered for a single season are ten, which the show’s producers must shoot. The 10 episodes for seasons 3 and 4 were filmed over a five-month period in regular, non-COVID conditions, from August 2019 to January 2020.

After two seasons of “Somebody Feed Phil” were filmed back-to-back before either one was broadcast, Season 3 was made available on Netflix in May of last year. Season 4 was already completed and would be released in October 2020. Of course, Netflix’s 2020 scheduling shouldn’t be taken as a standard for anything the streaming service does now or in 2022, assuming there are no impending lockdowns. However, “Somebody Feed Phil” fans should wait for the release of Season 5 in the spring of 2022 if they want to remain optimistic. The remaining seasons are therefore available on Netflix.

Season 6 of Somebody Feed Phil Will Premiere Later This Year

But that’s not all the good news for Somebody Feed Phil fans. Variety reports that the show has already been renewed for a sixth season ahead of the Season 5 premiere. According to Rosenthal, the streamer is aiming for a fall debut for the next season, but nothing has been confirmed.

Seasons 5 and 6 were filmed concurrently, so the chances of not seeing the five episodes that comprise Season 6 were slim. The 10 episodes were shot during breaks in the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Rosenthal, who also executive produces the show.
