Fans of holiday films are in for a treat, as Netflix has begun to unveil its Christmas film schedule. The return of a renowned actress, skiing-induced amnesia, and perfectly timed mistletoe are all featured in one of their new Christmas films. The popular films preceding Falling for Christmas include The Princess Switch trilogy, The Christmas Prince trilogy, and standalone such as Operation Christmas Drop and Love Hard.
Netflix first announced the film on Twitter, with Variety confirming the facts exclusively on the same day in 2021. This movie was directed by Janeen Damian (Much Ado About Christmas, The Christmas Waltz) and co-written by Michael Damian (A Princess for Christmas), Jeff Bonnett (Love by the Book), and Ron Oliver (The Housewives of the North Pole).
The film’s executive producers are the director, Steve Berman (A Castle for Christmas, The Princess Switch 3), Eric Jarboe (The Knight Before Christmas, Operation Christmas Drop), Amanda Phillips (A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby, Holiday in the Wild), Jimmy Townsend (Sense, Sensibility & Snowmen, Christmas in Rome), and David M. Wulf (The Christmas Bow, Christmas Tree Lane), with Michael Damian and Brad Krevoy (The Great Christmas Switch) serving as co-producers
We are about to descend the mountain (safely, this is not a terrifying holiday film) to share all the information we have on Falling for Christmas, so pack your snowsuit.
Falling for Christmas Plot and Story
Sierra Belmont (Lindsay Lohan) lives a life that many people can only imagine. The daughter of a hotel magnate, she has never lacked for anything. However, she wants to be known by more than her name, according to the narration in the teaser. Perhaps the persona was inspired by a French city-named celebrity with a significant social media following.
Sierra is having the best Christmas ever. Tad (George Young), her lover, takes her skiing and proposes at the peak of the mountain. Is that not romantic? However, their joy is short-lived, as she backslides off the mountain and falls into the unknown. Someone on a sleigh locates her and transports her to the hospital.
She has no identification on her and has amnesia due to the fall. While she appears to recall certain aspects of life, such as the fact that hotels normally offer room service, she cannot recall who she is or how she wound there at the base of the mountain. Jake (Chord Overstreet), a local innkeeper, provides Kate with a place to heal.
While she waits for her memory to return or for her loved ones to locate her, whichever happens first, she assists at the lodge and even learns how to make beds. However, her family does not find her immediately. A clip in the teaser has her father requesting that people find his daughter, but it appears that they are not reunited with Tad for some time. During this time, it appears as if she and Jake connect, and Sierra is forced to choose between living in the little town or returning to the affluent lifestyle she is accustomed to.

Falling for Christmas Main Cast
Lindsay Lohan plays Sierra Belmont in the film. Audiences may recognize the actress from films such as The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, and Mean Girls from her adolescence. Her latest works include Sick Note, The Canyons, and the stage production Speed-the-Plow. Chord Overstreet plays Jake. The actor is well-known for his role on the television series Glee, but he has also appeared as a guest star on The Bold Type, iCarly, and Regular Show.
As part of a two-film pact, Falling for Christmas is Lindsay Lohan’s dramatic return to acting and her first movie with Netflix. The streaming service said in March that the holiday film was the first production it has announced. The second film is Irish Wish, a romantic comedy about a wedding in Ireland. In September, producer Michael Damian revealed on Twitter that work is now underway.
