Marc and Steven may have found some common ground, but, as the conclusion implied, they are not the only personalities inhabiting that body. We saw in the Moon Knight series finale that Khonshu is eager to take advantage of this, and despite his pledge to relieve Marc and Steven from their duties, he is not yet finished with the duo.
So, what does the future hold for Marc Spector, Steven Grant, Khonshu, and the rest? Here is all we’ve discovered regarding a possible Moon Knight season 2 release date. Warning: there are spoilers ahead!
Moon Knight Season 2 Release Date Speculation
Season 2 of Moon Knight does not have a release date as of April 2022, and it is unlikely to have one. Isaac has made it abundantly evident that Moon Knight is a limited series, not a continuous series.
“When I was younger, I collected comic books, but I had never heard of Moon Knight. Isaac told Jared Leto on an episode of Actors on Actors, “I was familiar with Morbius, but not Moon Knight.” “Because it’s a feature-length film, I don’t know how the process was for you. We’re part of a limited run.”
Nonetheless, Moon knight writer and producer Jeremy Slater revealed his plans for the character beyond the series to Total Film. However, he acknowledges he is unsure whether the Fist of Khonshu will ever join Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
“My sincere response is that I do not know. “Because [Marvel CEO] Kevin Feige makes all those decisions,” he stated. “If I had my way, he would be a member of the Avengers. It is not within my control, but I believe that is the objective!” As things stand, it seems unlikely there will be a second season of Moon Knight, but as Feige stated, you can never say never with the MCU.
Moon Knight’s journey will continue in some form, as suggested by the film’s conclusion. We do not yet know what form it will take.
Moon Knight Season 2 Plot
Marc Spector’s exploits as Moon Knight would presumably continue in the second season of Moon Knight. In the first season, the avatar of Khonshu dealt with Harrow and his cultists, but a sequel series may cover various topics.
We think it would be cool if the next series adapted the Shadow Knight tale, even though many fans may want to see the vigilante with a mask confront Werewolf by Night. In this story, Randall, Marc’s brother, returned as the lethal Shadow Knight, an evil counterpart of Moon Knight who had become a distorted avatar for Khonshu.
Moon Knight head writer Jeremy Slater has hinted that Jake Lockley may be explored in the future. Everything exists to serve a more significant benefit. But will he be a friend?” he asked The Direct. “Is he an adversary? I believe these are all very intriguing questions for whoever assumes leadership. This is an interesting prospect if I or someone else gets to write the next Moon Knight narrative. His story is undoubtedly not over.”
Moon Knight Season 2 Cast Speculation
If Moon Knight received a second season, Oscar Isaac would undoubtedly reprise his role as the title character. That means Marc and Steven are likely to appear as well, but the strange thing about Moon Knight is that you can never predict which of his personalities will be present from story to story.
If Moon Knight returns, he will also require his patron deity. This indicates that F. Murray Abraham will likely return to the recording studio to lend his voice to Khonshu, the moon god. Likewise, we cannot imagine Layla El-Faouly (May Calamawy) leaving her husband? Husbands? It is complicated, so please pardon us if we become a little confused.
Arthur Harrow, portrayed by Ethan Hawke, is the only Moon Knight character we do not expect to return, at least in a significant fashion. While we adored the glass-shattering lunatic, we can’t see Ethan Hawke committing to more Marvel projects, especially since he was wounded in the head, making a return challenging but not impossible.
