Whitman announced on her official Instagram that the first images from Up Here would be shown and that the show would start airing on a certain date. Along with the release date and pictures, she also wrote in the post’s caption how excited she was for the new series.

The upcoming musical rom-com was first announced in February 2022. It takes place at the end of 1999 in New York and tells the story of an ordinary couple named Lindsay, played by Whitman, and Miguel, played by Carlos Valdes, who used to be on The Flash on The CW.
The series will show how the two falls in love and deal with the problems that come with being in a relationship, the biggest of which is themselves. They will have to figure out how their own needs, wants, and dreams affect their relationship.

Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, who wrote the songs for Frozen and WandaVision, will write new songs for the series. Thomas Kail, who directed Hamilton, will be in charge of the series. Along with Levenson, Sanchez-Witzel, Anderson-Lopez, Lopez, and Jennifer Todd, Kail will also be one of the show’s executive producers. Along with Kail’s Old 320 Sycamore Productions, the show is made by 20th Television.
