A trailer depicting Tomlinson’s artistic development has been posted before the March 2023 premiere of the new film.
Tomlinson opens the film by discussing his confusion following One Direction’s break.
“I believed it was either the band or nothing,” he remarked. “It was difficult for me to envision myself on my own. I did not see a route back – musically or otherwise.”

What is the Storyline of Louis Tomlinson’s Documentary?
The film, which was directed by Charlie Lightening (Liam Gallagher: As It Was), examines Tomlinson’s career and includes never-before-seen footage from the singer’s 2022 tour as well as home footage that provides an insight into his personal life.
The film also follows his 2022 solo record Faith in the Future, the follow-up to his 2020 debut album Walls.
According to the official press release, the film “explores his journey from a member of One Direction to a solo artist, capturing the challenges and triumphs that defined his path”.
Tomlinson stated of the film, “This is something I’ve been working on for years, and I’m thrilled to finally release it to the public.”
