Quite a year has passed for Michael Cusack. Australian-born artist Cusack has rapidly gained notoriety thanks to the popularity of his Adult Swim series Smiling Friends and the renewal of another of his Adult Swim series, YOLO: Silver Destiny.
His straightforward yet appealing visual aesthetic and surrealistic humour rooted in Australian culture have become a hit, garnering interest from the streaming juggernaut Hulu. Following Cusack’s contribution of a short to Hulu’s Paloni Show Halloween Special, Koala Man, a new Australian-themed sitcom, will air on Hulu.
The show will be another comedy for Cusack, albeit it naturally adopts a more conventional sitcom style in comparison.

We have a family man who also moonlights as a marsupial superhero, likely coping with both external threats and the internal struggle of his work-life balance, instead of a couple of Australian party ladies or a duo who attempt to make people happy.

Koala Man Release Date
The adult animated comedy series “Koala Man” will debut on Hulu on January 9, 2023, the same day it will debut on Disney+ in Canada, according to a statement from Hulu. Additionally, the series will soon be available internationally on Disney+.
Koala Man the Plot: What to Expect?
The following is a summary of Koala Man’s official plot supplied by Hulu.
Koala Man follows middle-aged dad Kevin and his titular not-so-secret identity, whose only superpower is a burning passion for following rules and snuffing out pretty crime in the town of Dapto. Though it may seem like any other Australian suburb, forces of evil both cosmic and man-made lie in wait to pounce on unsuspecting Daptonians. On a quest to clean up his hometown, and often roping his frustrated family into his adventures, Koala Man stands at the ready. He’ll do whatever it takes to defeat villainous masterminds, supernatural horrors, or worse: jerks who don’t take their rubbish bins down on the proper days.”

With this setup, we may anticipate a wide range of absurd circumstances. Koala Man is one of Cusack’s more realistic characters, along with Pim and Rachel from his earlier works, and his presence is essential in providing the spectator with a break from the hysteria.
The audience will probably want to support Koala Man despite his flaws since he appears to be someone who genuinely cares about his home and is willing to take action, even if his efforts are a little misdirected.
When it comes to confrontations, Cusack’s work frequently delves into silliness: fighting “Bush Wizards,” overly aggressive partygoers, and sluggish giants frequently take situations to ludicrous extremes before resolving them in the most careless of ways.
A verbal argument can frequently start out small, gradually grow, and then disappear completely when the persons involved go about their daily lives. With some of the more outrageous features shown in recent promotional material, it will be interesting to watch how this style of humour is applied to a cast of typical sitcom characters.

Koala Man the Cast: Who’s in It?
Similar to his earlier efforts, John Cusack will play the title character in Koala Man, with Australian voice actors Sara Snook and Demi Lardner probably playing the rest of the character’s family.
Along with appearing in movies including Winchester, An American Pickle, and Steve Jobs, Snook is a key cast member in HBO’s Succession. Lardner, meantime, has worked on a number of projects with the Australian comic ensemble Aunty Donna and had a few supporting roles in Drunk History: Australia.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Hugh Jackman has been confirmed as a guest voice for the show, making this one of the rare voice acting roles the Australian-born actor has taken on. This makes it all the more intriguing.
Hugo Weaving (The Matrix), Rachel House (Thor: Ragnarok), Jarrad Wright (The Big Lez Show), and Jermaine Clement are some additional guest voices (What We Do In the Shadows).

The Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland will work as an executive producer on the programme. The fact that he has worked with Cusack before is a fair indication of the calibre Koala Man will bring to the table.
