I Am Groot

I Am Groot: Cast List in Detail!

Jeremy Caroll

Ever since the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in 2017 Marvel fans have been taken aback by the cuteness of Baby Groot. The tree of few words has been a lovable and hilarious addition to the guardians, whether he has been fully grown or still just a sapling. Given that we missed quite a bit of Groot growing up (and the fact that Marvel fans love him) Disney has decided to release a miniseries focused on some of his amusing adventures from seedling to Guardian. Here’s everything you need to know about I Am Groot.

Release Date of I Am Groot

The premiere of “I Am Groot” is scheduled for August 10, 2022, and it will be made available solely through the Disney+ streaming service. In contrast to other series that have recently debuted on the streaming site, all five episodes of this one will be made available at the same time. As a result, you will be able to witness Groot’s adventures in their entirety at the same time. Because the whole thing is only twenty minutes long, you can really take it all in at once if you want to. The stuff that makes up the whole thing.

Cast of I Am Groot

I am Groot features a charmingly small cast, which is something that should come as no surprise to anyone. In this installment, Vin Diesel reprises his role as Groot, while this time, Bradley Cooper provides the voice of Rocket.

Because Bradley Cooper appears in only one of the show’s five episodes, those who had high hopes for a significant amount of interaction between Rocket and Groot will be left disappointed. There is a good chance that “I am Groot” will be the only line of dialogue in four of the episodes, which has to be some kind of record for the number of episodes with no other lines of dialogue.

I Am Groot

As for the producers, we have Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker James Gunn joining Kevin Feige for one episode and continuing Kevin Feige’s brilliant piloting of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for all five episodes. Aside from that, we have Kristen Lepore, who is making her directorial debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, helming the remaining episodes of the miniseries.

Plot of I Am Groot

From what we can tell from the teaser and reviews from the episodes that were released early at El Capitan Theaters and San Diego Comic-Con 2022, the series focuses primarily on Baby Groot in a manner that is reminiscent of Gulliver’s Travelers. In these quick and entertaining episodes, Groot will engage with a wide variety of extraterrestrial life forms the majority of the time.

Where in the Timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Do the Events of “I Am Groot” Take Place?

I Am Groot allegedly “takes place exactly between the end of Guardians 2 and before the tag scene in Guardians 2,” as stated by Marvel Studios Head of Streaming Brad Winderbaum. Therefore, Groot is in that kind of post-toddler stage of growth within this brief window of opportunity.”

I Am Groot

This is a somewhat constrained chronology, and as a result, there are probably going to be some openings for more shorts set when Groot was a teenager, for example. And it turns out to be a good thing because it does not appear that this particular event will be a one-time only occurrence.

Is Season 2 of I Am Groot in the Works?

It has already been decided that there will be a second season of I am Groot, which will premiere in the year 2023. The only person who has been confirmed to participate in the second season so far is Vin Diesel, but given how small the cast was in the first season, there is little reason to believe that the storyline will diverge significantly from the one that was in the first season. If twenty minutes of Groot isn’t enough for you, then you won’t have to wait too much longer for some more long-lost exploits of this tree teen. They are coming soon.

If you’re looking for content that can be consumed in smaller chunks, like the show “I Am Groot,” Disney+ offers a lot of fantastic stuff to offer. Our list will begin with the most recent addition, which is the spinoff series of Big Hero 6, titled Baymax! The vast majority of people are unaware that Big Hero 6 is a type of adaptation of a Marvel Comics property, which sort of positions the franchise in proximity to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Baymax! takes place after the events of the animated film that was released in 2014 and follows the titular huggable robot as he travels throughout San Fransokyo helping folks who are in need of medical attention. The series is educational for younger audiences and it contains enough emotional weight to cause you to shed a few tears here and there. There are six episodes in the Baymax! series and each one is approximately ten minutes long.

I Am Groot

SparkShorts is the next recommendation that we have for you to consider. This anthology series features a number of independent animated shorts created by Pixar employees as part of a program where they are given six months and a limited budget to create short and often experimental stories.

Pixar employees are given the opportunity to participate in this program by being given the opportunity to create short and independent animated shorts. The show tackles more mature topics than Pixar’s more typical feature films, and two of the shorts have been nominated for Oscars, which is a testament to the quality of the show. There have been ten films released so far under the SparkShorts banner, and each one runs for an average of eight minutes.
