Matt Shakman, the director of Wandavision and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, was announced by Marvel studio president Kevin Feige at D23.
In 2020, Feige confirmed that Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts will direct the film. Watts stepped down in April 2022, taking a vacation from superhero films. Sorry to everyone who believed Steven Spielberg would accept the position.
Fantastic Four Cast
Although no one has been officially cast, persistent reports regarding the leading candidates for the parts are still circulating. For instance, stories about you and Penn Badgley from Gossip Girl frequently surface. The performers who appear to be most likely to be cast have odds calculated by betting websites.
John David Washington and Dan Stevens are among the favorites to play Reed Richards, while Zac Efron and Anthony Ramos are the favorites to play Johnny Storm. Lily James, Samara Weaving, and Sue Storm seem to be popular picks (though back when John Krasinski was still a legit frontrunner, Emily Blunt was also up there). There have been several Fantastic Four films, but there has been no formal involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There was a 1994 version that was never released, as well as a 2005 version starring Jessica Alba and Chris Evans (which also got a sequel in 2007). Fox attempted to create a new Fantastic Four film in 2015.
