Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios are working together to create a new animated feature. Elemental is the name of it. Here’s what we know about Pixar’s Elemental.
Previously, Disney and Pixar cooperated on hit animated films such as Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Up, and Lightyear. Elemental will be Pixar’s 27th animated feature overall, and the first of five more Pixar films to be released in the near future.
Peter Sohn, who began his career at Pixar as a story artist and production artist on Finding Nemo, will direct Elemental. Sohn was most recently the voice of Lightyear’s Sox.
Elemental will be Sohn’s second full-length picture as a director, following The Good Dinosaur in 2015. Denise Ream, who worked with Sohn on The Good Dinosaur, will produce Elemental. She is also familiar with Pixar, having worked there as Up’s associate producer in 2006.
Pixar’s social media networks have begun to build anticipation for the film by releasing official concept art in May 2022. (via Twitter). Here’s everything we know so far about Pixar’s Elemental, including the release date, story summary, and more.
Elemental Movie Story Details
Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios are collaborating on the upcoming American computer-animated film Elemental. Pixar’s Elemental will investigate the four elements of air, earth, wind, and fire.
The plot of Elemental revolves around Ember, a “fiery” woman, and Wade, a watery, “go-with-the-flow” man who dwells in a city where individuals of various elements coexist.
Despite their differences, Ember and Wade will have a better grasp of how much they have in common as the film progresses (via Twitter). The voice cast for Elemental is unknown, but some fans are hoping for another John Ratzenberger Pixar cameo.
Elemental was inspired by Sohn’s personal childhood in New York. Elemental, like many family films, will thus go beyond pointed comedy to establish specific sensitivities that will aid its audience in acquiring a deeper knowledge of the environment they live in.
Elemental Release Date
The film will be released in theatres the following year. Elemental will be released on June 16th, 2023 by Disney and Pixar, According to SCREEN RANT. This will be Pixar’s first animated feature since Lightyear in 2022, and it will be released in 2023.
Elemental was also shown at the Disney D23 Expo on September 9, 2022, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, prior to its official release.

More Information About the Film and the Cast
Elemental is one of the few upcoming films that is not a sequel, prequel, spin-off, or installment in a franchise. This makes it one of the most unique forthcoming films. Instead, it intends to entice viewers with a fresh story. Based on the plot hints, fans appear to be in for a crazy journey.
The film will be directed by Peter Sohn, well known for his work as the director of The Good Dinosaur and as the voice of Sox in the Pixar film Lightyear.
