Doom Patrol Season 4 Episode 3 Recap
Rita sits alone in her pajamas, watching bad TV and eating junk food, saddened by the team’s decision to side with a complete stranger. She answers the doorbell and discovers a poster on her doorstep.
The flyer advertises a Rita Farr Retrospective. Rita is moved by the sentiment and goes to the local cinema to be recognized by her adoring fans. Of course, when she arrives, the cinema is completely deserted.
But she remains, watching her first film role return to the big screen. As the film begins, a green fog enters the room, knocking the actress out. Jane, another lost soul, considers her own life’s purpose after watching Kay’s interview. She listens to rock music to drown out her thoughts before attempting to solve the unsolvable jigsaw puzzle she was given.
Jane is frustrated when she comes across a puzzle piece containing an eye. Suddenly, a mist rises from the puzzle pieces, enveloping Jane in an orgasmic fog. Yes, you read that correctly. Larry pursues Keeg, who appears to be taunting his master by hiding in the walls and tampering with the electrics.

Rouge suggests Larry let Keeg go, which he appears to have already done in the future timeline. Larry, on the other hand, is powerless without Keeg. Rouge believes that now is the ideal time for him to find a new purpose in life. Rouge’s pathetic attempts to support her teammate irritate Larry, but she claims she is only trying to become a better leader.

Larry suggests that she begin by apologizing to Rita. Meanwhile, Vic musters the courage to reconnect with old friends. He admits to them that he no longer has his powers and has swapped his old appearance for new synthetic skin.
They discuss their old school project, a robot named Mr. Invincible, and then address Vic’s mother’s death with caution. Things start out well, but it soon becomes clear that they have a lot of resentment toward the superhero. He wasn’t available when they needed him. They are hurt and rejected. They later play laser tag.

He has a genuine, open conversation with Deric, and they both feel heard. At the end of the day, Deric hands over the robot toy to Vic, and the superhero is once again accepted into the gang. Rita is magically transported into her own films while at the movies.
She initially enjoys the experience, living out a romantic fantasy, but quickly realizes the horrors of the situation. Especially when she’s immersed in a genuine horror film in which she acted.
While Rita tries to flee her new reality, the gang is forced to convene for another meeting. Rouge wishes to conduct some team-building exercises and suggests beginning with Rita and her Retrospective.

The gang quickly realizes that Rita is trapped inside her own films, and the green smog reappears, enslaving them as well. Only Rouge manages to flee, transforming into a bird to avoid the fog.
