Jeremy Caroll

Anthony Mackie will participate in Captain America 4. Reportedly, the actor has inked a contract to carry the Captain America shield in his debut Marvel picture.

Sam Wilson assumed the mantle after the conclusion of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. His friend Steve Rogers, represented by Chris Evans in the first three Captain America films and Avengers ensembles, will be replaced by him.

Unofficially titled Captain America 4, the script is being penned by Falcon and Winter Soldier head writer Malcolm Spellman and another of the show’s writers, Dalan Musson. No director has yet been appointed.

Even the position of director has not been filled as of yet. As a result, there is still a significant amount of time left until the project enters pre-production and begins shooting.

Captain America 4 Cast

Anthony Mackie is expected to reprise his role as Sam Wilson, who became Captain America in the concluding episode of Falcon and Winter Soldier. This news was first reported by Deadline (opens in new tab), but it has since been confirmed by various media publications.

It is currently unconfirmed whether or not Sebastian Stan will reprise his role as Bucky Barnes, also known as the Winter Soldier. Both of these characters are Steve Rogers’ buddies, and during the series on Disney Plus, they form their own alliances with one another.

However, given that Bucky has been in each and every Captain America movie, it would come as a big surprise to us if he didn’t make an appearance in this one.

At the very least, Stan seems quite enthusiastic about Mackie’s appointment to the role of Captain America, as evidenced by his upbeat response to the casting news on Instagram:

  • There are also concerns with the character of Sharon Carter, played by Emily VanCamp,
  • John Walker, played by Wyatt Russell, and
  • Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

The latter made a cameo appearance in the scene that played after the credits rolled in Black Widow, and it appears that it will play a role in future films.

What is the Plotline for Captain America 4?

Due to the fact that the script for Captain America 4 is still in the process of being written, very little information about the story’s progression is currently available.

Nevertheless, there are a few topics about which we can conjecture. Since Captain America is a new role for Sam, the movie might focus on how he adjusts to the responsibilities of the position.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier left a few loose story strands that could be handled in Captain America 4; these plot threads were left hanging in their respective movies.

For starters, the show has dropped hints that Joaquin Torres, played by Danny Ramirez, may eventually replace Sam as the Falcon. John Walker, who played the role of Captain America for a limited period of time, is still present, and his U.S. Agent might be the main opponent.

And then there’s Sharon Carter, who turned out to be the Power Broker all along. She was granted forgiveness at the conclusion of the story, but she has malicious plans for her newfound freedom now that she has been restored.

As far as prospective plots adapted from the comics go, many readers are holding out hope that the film will be based on the first “Secret Empire” tale, which was published in the 1970s (not the new one!).

In it, Steve uncovers a vast government cover-up that has far-reaching implications. He is falsely accused of murder by the cabal, which causes the general populace to avoid him. Taking into consideration how FAWS incorporated systemic racism into its narrative, the “Secret Empire” plot may be modified to include a similar element to better match Sam. Additionally, Sharon, Valentina, and John Walker are all plausible candidates for involvement.
