The first video for Bird Box Barcelona has been released, giving us more information about the sequel to Netflix’s 2018 horror movie about a world after the end of the world. Bird Box Barcelona, which comes out next month, takes place at the same time as Bird Box, the first movie starring Sandra Bullock.

The scary idea behind Bird Box comes from the same-titled book by Josh Malerman, who is also a producer on Barcelona.

This time, the main characters are Sebastián (played by Mario Casas) and Sophia (played by Naila Schuberth), who are father and daughter. Georgina Campbell, who is known for her roles in “Barbarian” and “Black Mirror,” as well as Diego Calva, Alejandra Howard, Gonzalo de Castro, Michelle Jenner, Patrick Criado, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Lola Dueas, and Celia Freijeiro, are also in the movie.

Barcelona was written and directed by Alex Pastor and his brother David Pastor. It hints at an “even more sinister threat” that is hanging over this new group of survivors. The official description from Netflix says, “After a mysterious force kills off most of the world’s people, Sebastián must find his own way to survive through the empty streets of Barcelona.”
