The first season of Are You The One on Paramount+ has arrived, and things are getting a lot messier for these contestants. Having people from various cultures and places all in one house sounds like a lot of fun, but as entertaining as it is, the couples this season don’t seem to be finding their true match.

Are You The One, which debuted on television on January 21st, 2014, is a dating show with a unique format. The show solely relies on an algorithm to select the best matches from a pool of contestants.

After everyone enters the house, they must try to find the perfect match that the algorithm has secretly chosen for them. They can discover this through a series of competitions or by simply following their hearts.

If they can find the right partners by the end of the competition, they will be eligible for a whopping $1 million cash prize. The catch is that truth ceremony are held on a regular basis to determine whether any of the couples formed are true matches. If there is no true match, the cash prize is reduced by $250,000.

With a large cash prize and the possibility of finding their soulmate on the line, these contestants do their best to determine who would be their best match. This season premiered on January 18th, 2023, after being announced on December 8th, 2022. It will feature approximately 22 contestants, and the season will be hosted by Kamie Crawford.

In the previous episode, the contestants were subjected to a total blackout, which has never occurred at the start of any season. As shocking as it is, the blackout means heartbreak for all the newly formed couples.

Some don’t want to let go of the one they thought was the right one for them but seeing the cash prize reduced by $250,000 forces everyone to reconsider their choices. Brooke and Leo, who were looking forward to spending time together after the show, are hit the hardest by the match-up ceremony.

In this episode, the challenge was only for men, and it involved placing tiles of female contestants in response to a question. The winner of the competition will be the person who goes on a date. Julia-Ruth receives the letter from Kamie. Eduardo takes the stage first and is asked, “Who is the most recent single?”

All of the boys arrange the tiles in response to the question, realizing how little they know about the women. Hamudi comes in first, followed by Leo. They make the decision to go on dates with Anissa and CC.
