Shikhar Dhawan: Punjab Kings has successfully purchased Indian left-handed opener Shikhar Dhawan for a whopping sum of ₹8.25 crore, while Rajasthan Royals and former team Delhi Capitals failed to seal their bids on the successful batsman. With Dhawan joining Punjab Kings, the franchise has clinched a spot in the upcoming IPL season.

In a recent press conference, Shikhar Dhawan revealed that he is seeking to contribute to the team’s performance and that he has shifted his focus from ‘competition’ since he feels like a lone fighter when he thinks of only contributing.

Former Indian spinner Anil Kumble, who is currently the head coach of Punjab Kings, has done a great job in picking the players for their team. During Byju’s Talking Cricket, Anil Kumble hinted about the new captain of Punjab Kings. Kumble called Shikhar Dhawan joining Punjab Kings as “Back home” and the veteran spinner later praised how Shikhar can help the team move forward.
