IPL Mega Auction 2022: No auction for Chris Lynn

Jeremy Caroll

Chris Lynn, an Australian batsman and BBL standout, will not play for any franchise in the TATA IPL 2022. He goes unsold and unauctioned this year.

During the 2011 and 2012 Indian Premier League (IPL) tournaments, he was a member of the Deccan Chargers team, however he only got to play one match for the team in IPL 2012. He was acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders for the 2014 season, and in his first action, he was the man of the match, scoring 45 off 31 balls and dismissing AB de Villiers with a spectacular catch at the boundary that turned the game in the final over.

He was re-signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders for the 2015 IPL season, but he was injured and had to withdraw from the competition. As a replacement, Johan Botha was brought in. As opener for Kolkata Knight Riders against Gujarat Lions in IPL 2017, he smashed a career-best 19-ball 50 with 8 sixes. He hurt his shoulder in the following match against the Mumbai Indians while attempting to take a difficult catch from Jos Buttler. He returned a month later and hit a 22-ball 50 in his comeback match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, scoring 105 runs in the first six overs with Sunil Narine (54 off 17). In the IPL, this is the most runs scored by a team in the Powerplay.
