Ambati Rayudu would have been designated as a specialist batter if he had been retained by Chennai Super Kings, but he converted it to wicket-keeper instead.
In the IPL, Rayudu has been a steady performer. In total, he has played 175 matches and scored 3916 runs. He has a strike rate of 127.47 and an average of 29.44 runs per game. In addition, he has one century and 21 half-centuries to his credit. He scored 257 runs at an average of 28.55 and a fantastic strike rate of 151.17 to help CSK win the title last season. He was particularly impressive against the Mumbai Indians, scoring 72 runs off just 27 balls at a strike rate of 266.67 while hitting four fours and seven sixes.
