IPL 2022 Auction: 4 Most Underrated Players Who Will Be A Part Of The IPL Auction 2022

Jeremy Caroll

The IPL 2022 preparations are already on, and the BCCI is preparing for the IPL 2022 auction, which will take place next month. The IPL 2022 auction is set to take place in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13, according to current preparations. With the addition of two more franchises, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, the upcoming mega auctions will feature a total of ten clubs. Only 27 players have been retained for the upcoming season by all of the old eight teams. The two new franchises will each select three players from the pool of released players prior to the auction. Many players have consistently performed well in the IPL but are still undervalued.

We’re going to discuss about 4 underappreciated players  in this article.

Shikhar Dhawan

The first player on this list is Shikhar Dhawan. Despite putting on a fantastic batting performance for the Delhi Capitals previous season, Dhawan was not retained. The left-handed batsman scored 587 runs in 16 games and was the team’s leading run scorer.

He single-handedly led the club to victory in a few games with three half-centuries. Except for the 2019 season, when he hit 34.73, he has batted above 36 in the last six seasons. Despite his outstanding batting performance in the tournament, Dhawan does not command a high fee when compared to other top players.

Nitish Rana

Another name on this list is Nitish Rana. Nitish Rana was released from the Kolkata Knight Riders’ squad ahead of the IPL 2022 season. Since the start of the IPL in 2017, the left-handed batter has never failed to achieve 300 runs in any season. The left-handed batter deserves a lot of the credit for KKR’s recent success. He is one of the tournament’s best middle-order batsmen. However, he was discharged from the KKR squad, and he will not receive much attention during the IPL 2022 auction.

Devdutt Padikkal

Another name on the list is Devdutt Padikkal. Padikkal debuted for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2020 season. He became a vital member of the team after finishing as the team’s top run scorer in 2020.

He hit 411 runs in 14 games in the IPL 2021. In one match, he also hit a magnificent century. Despite his outstanding performances, despite having a vacant slot for retentions, the team did not keep him in the lineup.

Harshal Patel

Harshal Patel is another undervalued player set to be auctioned off in the IPL 2022 season. Last season, Patel was traded from Delhi Capitals to Royal Challengers Bangalore. The move paid off handsomely for the team, as the right-arm bowler concluded IPL 2021 with the most 32 wickets and was awarded the purple hat. He also tied for the most wickets in an IPL season. The 31-year-old has been a part of the event since 2012, but has only had a few chances. He has only played 63 games in the IPL in ten seasons. Patel was not retained by RCB, and he will be auctioned off in the IPL super auctions in 2022.
