The BCCI might have supported the senior duo in the Test format

The poor form of two sensational batsmen – Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara, continued and they were ultimately dropped from the only format they are considered in. Both the players are not considered to play the limited format series, and with an announcement of dropping the former Vice-Captain and The Wall – Pujara, India has given a hint of a new era with young players.

Whoever comes in the playing XI, it is guaranteed with the fact that the contribution by these veteran players will always be special to the Indian fans and the game viewers. No one could doubt Rahane’s fielding and presence of mind in the game, and Pujara’s wicket was always an effort full of sweat as bowlers would get tired to get him out.

Team India could have backed the top order duo by allowing them to play on home soil against Sri Lanka for the 2-match Test series, which might benefit both of them.

The management would be considering from their own perspective, bearing in mind the matches on the radar for the current ICC Test championship, and team India would be thinking for the perfect XI in a certain circumstance.
