Ranji Trophy: Quick recap and summary of the match between Delhi and Tamil Nadu

The match between Delhi and Tamil Nadu was played in Guwahati at the beautiful ground – Barsapara Cricket Stadium.

Tamil Nadu opted to bowl first, to which Delhi put up a score of 452 runs at the loss of 10 complete wickets. Debutant Yash Dhull smashed a ton in his first innings of Ranji Trophy, getting out for 113 runs.

Lalit Yadav played well for Delhi down the order as he hit for 177 runs, which included 10 out-of-the-park sixes. Team Delhi cheered up watching the amazing knock by Lalit.

Tamil Nadu coming to bat with a trail of 453 runs, scored a total of 494 runs which includes a great start by Kaushik Gandhi as he scored 55 runs, and Shahrukh Khan played a major role in the Tamil Nadu innings as he smashed 194 runs, getting out by Nitish Rana.

Baba Indrajith also smashed a ton in the same match and helped his team Tamil Nadu to score some leading runs on board.

Delhi came out to bat in the second innings and the match was declared drawn after Delhi openers stood not out for 61 overs. Yash Dhull once again smashed for a ton with a similar score of 113 runs and Dhruv Shorey smashed 107 runs along with Yash Dhull in the opening partnership.

Among the bowlers M Mohammed was successful in taking 4 wickets of the Delhi side in the first innings, whereas Vikas Mishra took 6 wickets of team Tamil Nadu.

Part-time spinner Nitish Rana was able to get two crucial wickets, getting out both the successful batsmen of Tamil Nadu – Baba Indrajith and Shahrukh Khan.

Shahrukh Khan’s innings of 194 runs was a key point in awarding him the Player of the Match award.
