India’s predicted XI for the 1st T20 against Sri Lanka

Jeremy Caroll

After whitewashing West Indies in both limited-over formats – ODI and T20 – Rohit Sharma and his team may be thrilled to play this series. In Ahmedabad and Kolkata, India defeated West Indies in all six games.

India has lately risen to the top of the T20 rankings, and under Rohit’s leadership, India is poised to achieve new heights in all forms.

With Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant rested for the T20 series against Sri Lanka, India does not need to be concerned since the hosts have a pack of lions, with everyone performing like the ‘Player of the Match.’

Ravindra Jadeja returns to the team and is expected to be featured in the playing XI since he contributes to all facets of the game. Before he was rested, Jadeja was in excellent form, and with a comeback after missing so many games, his performance is in doubt. He is, nevertheless, one of the top players who plays to win, and he could be included in the starting XI against India.

In the forthcoming series against India, Jasprit Bumrah will take on the role of vice-captain, supporting Rohit in sharing the leadership strain.

Avesh Khan may be given another shot following his debut against the West Indies in the third T20, which did not go as planned as he gave away nearly 40 runs in four overs without getting a wicket. Ruturaj, too, failed to make an impression and will be given another chance to show his ability as an opener.

Due to the absence of KL Rahul and Axar Patel, Ruturaj may be given the opportunity to open the innings. With Deepak Chahar’s hamstring issue, it’s still unclear if he’ll be able to take part.

Predicted XI :

1. Rohit Sharma (C)
2. Jasprit Bumrah (VC)
3. Ishan Kishan (WK)
4. Ruturaj Gaikwad
5. Venkatesh Iyer
6. Suryakumar Yadav
7. Shreyas Iyer
8. Ravindra Jadeja
9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
10. Avesh Khan
11. Ravi Bishnoi
