A crucially initial half an hour saw a little movement by the Sri Lankan pacers, slightly disturbing the flow of Indian openers – Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma – until Mayank smacked boundaries while rotating strike. As the crowd cheered, Rohit Sharma yet again elevated for a pull shot, connecting two deliveries by Kumara for 4s, helping the team cross 50 runs in just 9 overs. On the last delivery, Rohit tried to pull Kumara off slightly dipping delivery to hand over a catch at the fine leg.
