IND vs WI: “Review Bach Gaya,” team India sighs in relief

Jeremy Caroll

West Indies batsman Roston Chase was bowled by debutant Ravi Bishnoi but was deemed not-out. Veteran player and former captain of team India, Virat Kohli stated that he heard two noises while the bowler too was convinced that it was ‘out’. Before Rohit could take a DRS on the umpire’s decision, the square-leg umpire had already indicated an appeal of umpire’s review to the 3rd Umpire,to which Rohit asked if his referral would count.

The umpires came to the conclusion that the review was purely taken by the umpire and that it would not be termed a “DRS” call. When the teammates, including Pant, Rohit, Chahal, and even Kohli, heard this, they exhaled with relief, and the spectators heard the player exclaim, “Review bach Gaya.”

Rohit has been witnessed as an ultimate entertainer, not only with his bat and leadership skills, but also with his stump-mic banters. Rohit in the similar conversation also said – “ Yeh Wide kahan de raha hai,” to umpire’s decision.
