Under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, Team India thrashed West Indies 3-0 in the ODI series at Ahmedabad. BCCI will be proud of Rohit’s strong start as a leader and his innovative ideas.
After four years, India has finally whitewashed a series, having done so against Sri Lanka in 2017. India will now focus on the forthcoming T20I series in Kolkata against the West Indies.
India won the third One-Day International by 96 runs, bowling the West Indies out for 169 runs in the second innings. The fans of Team India’s bowling unit were reassured by Rohit Sharma, who was confident in his team’s ability to win the game by batting first.
After the top order faltered yet again, Shreyas Iyer’s important 80-run knock enabled India get back into the game. Shreyas received the Player of the Match award as a result of his outstanding performance and partnership with Rishabh Pant.
Kuldeep Yadav made a great recovery, taking two wickets in his eight over spell, but he was bowled out for 51 runs, which might be a worrying indication for the spinner. Siraj and Prasidh sparkled yet again for Team India, both getting three wickets. Deepak Chahar was drafted into the playing XI and quickly established himself as a valuable bowling all-rounder. Deepak Chahar’s brilliant performance of 38 runs and two wickets has aided team India with the potential of a long-term bowling all-rounder.
The remaining three T20 matches in the series between India and West Indies will be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on the 16th, 18th, and 20th of February.
