Player of the Series of T20 series against Sri Lanka, Shreyas Iyer is included in the Test squad, as he too travelled with other teammates to Chandigarh ( from Dharamsala).

Shreyas Iyer has played only two games in the longest format of cricket and the 27-yeard old has proved his prime form in the limited format, in the previous week. Shreyas might be fortunate to play a game in this Test series, as Rohit Sharma is one of the captains who like experimenting with the squad to come out with the best result possible.

Ajinkya Rahane and Chetashwar Pujara have been rested for this series, and the middle order might be taken care of by former skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Hanuma Vihari, and Ravindra Jadeja. The predicted openers can be Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill.

If India thinks about a constant performer in the middle order, Shreyas Iyer might be a preferable choice to bestow team India’s trust on the young lad.
