Dinesh Karthik believes BCCI is set to groom Rishabh Pant for a successful future

Indian current wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has been playing consistently for team India and have played some crucial knocks to nail his place in the playing XI.

Team India is preferably choosing Rishabh Pant to be in the squad, considering a positive future aspect from the young keeper.

Rishabh Pant is been played and counted in constantly as team India suggests investing in young talents and inexperienced players, rather than giving numerous chances to the players who had their time.

Dinesh Karthik understands why Saha was not included in the squad and the idea of grooming Pant to become one of the best keepers for team India and possibly a captain thereafter.

Dinesh Karthik in an interview with ICC states that it is time that team India should focus on ‘grooming’ Pant if they want him to play consistently.

“But you can see Rishabh Pant has pretty much nailed his place in the team. So then, you can understand which direction the Indian team is going in where they feel that if it’s going to be a second keeper role, then they’ll look at somebody younger,” says Karthik

“Because in time, it’s important to groom somebody, so that they can keep carrying the person along, whenever longer tours are required and whenever in these days even in home games, you require two keepers. So I understand the direction in which they have moved in,” adds Karthik.
