She went on, “I recall taking that shot, putting it down, and looking at him while thinking, “Oh, he’s so hot!” As a gentleman, he asked to kiss me later that night, and I granted his request.”

Evans and Ballerini both announced their engagement on Instagram, but the singer shared the news in a two-part Christmas 2016 post.
The first post was a throwback video from when the two co-hosted the Australian award show, and the second post showed her receiving a kiss from Evans as she displayed her stunning diamond ring.

December 2, 2017: Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans got married
In December 2017, the couple wed on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in the presence of one hundred of their closest friends and relatives.
Ballerini and Evans began their celebrations in an unorthodox manner, with a shot of tequila, but the singer told people that it was symbolic of how their relationship began. She stated, “It’s a little bit different, but that’s how we began.” In addition to the “tequila theme,” the most sentimental aspect of the couple’s wedding was their handwritten vows.

Released in October 2018, “Dance With Me” marked the first collaboration between the country duo. Evans did not initially intend for Ballerini to sing on the track, but after she requested his participation in one of her songs, he insisted that she sing on one of his as well.
“When [Ballerini] arrived, we wondered, ‘Do we really want to mess with this?’ Evans disclosed his wife’s initial apprehension to Rolling Stone. But the moment she opened her mouth to sing on that chorus, Chris [DeStefano] looked at me and we both had goosebumps on the back of our necks; it was a perfect fit. It was the first song I had ever written for her, and it was also my favorite song I had ever composed.

Ballerini live-tweeted the bat encounter in a hilarious manner, calling the bat “adorable” and putting out water for it. She also posted a video of Evans attempting to catch the bat with a pool skimmer.
The following morning, Ballerini provided an update: the couple slept downstairs, and the bat must have escaped from the bedroom on the second floor during the night.

Evans announced on Instagram that he and Ballerini moved into their first home together on October 19, 2020, nearly three years after their wedding. They moved from their downtown Nashville apartment to the suburbs.
