Chuck Norris, a celebrity in the martial arts, offended gay rights activists by saying that homosexual individuals have no place in the Boy Scouts organization.
A “century-old policy” excluding homosexual members from participating in the US youth organization is being challenged by Norris. He attacked President Obama and claimed that the reform is un-American.
Chuck Norris has a reputation for being a blunt speaker. Now, the outspoken performer and ardent conservative are voicing his support for the BSA’s (the Boy Scouts of America) infamously anti-gay policy.
The 72-year-old star of “Walker, Texas Ranger” criticised James Turley, a prominent member of the BSA’s governing board who has vowed to “work from within” to change the group’s policy of excluding gay participants, in an Op-Ed for the pro-ammunition website Ammoland.com. Turley is a vocal opponent of gay participation in the BSA.
Norris openly doubts Turley’s programmes, even going so far as to say that the BSA officer’s connections to President Obama, who is “pro-gay,” are what spurs them on.
In his article, Norris makes the following claim about Turley: ” Turley may have been nudged with incentives and privileges” by the White House in an effort to persuade him to speak out against the BSA.
“Is it a coincidence that a couple of months ago, Obama reversed his position on marriage, extending the union to gay couples, and that Turley just came out of the closet in his position against the BSA’s position?
Is it a coincidence that in the same few weeks when Turley turned on the BSA with his pro-gay stance, Obama turned on the U.S. military and sent down a decree that the service branches must celebrate “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month”?
Is it a coincidence that Turley is in tight cahoots with the White House and that he is the only BSA national board member in 100 years to oppose its pro-traditional family stance?”
“Is it a coincidence that BSA national board member James Turley came out swinging against the BSA’s century-old policy to ban gays from leadership and that he has such close affiliations with the pro-gay Obama administration?” Norris asks after praising the BSA as “the best of America” and “as integral a part of American life and culture as hot dogs, baseball, and Grandma’s apple pie.”
“If two people think so similarly, you can bet that one person isn’t thinking,” he continues.
A GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) spokeswoman issued a statement condemning Norris’ statements. Rich Ferraro suggests that Chuck Norris speak with Mitt Romney, who Norris supports for president and who has publicly stated that all Americans should be free to join the Boy Scouts of America regardless of sexual orientation. A Change.org petition was recently signed by hundreds of thousands of Americans, including Josh Hutcherson, Benicio del Toro, Julianne Moore, Joshua Jackson, Kat Graham, and Dianna Agron.
Chuck Norris appears to be a fame-hungry has-been with terrible research abilities, according to Ferraro, whereas celebrities who embrace homosexual Americans are enjoying successful careers.
Norris, a devoted Christian, has previously argued in favour of the “birther” movement, urging President Obama to reveal his birth certificate, and even intervened in the Wisconsin recall campaign, urging citizens to back Governor Scott Walker (R).

Following the example of Jennifer Tyrrell, who was forced to resign from her role as den mother to her 7-year-old son’s Tiger Scout troop because she is a lesbian, the BSA’s policies have been in the news regularly in recent weeks.
Chuck Norris, according to Tyrrell, “is obviously out of touch, and I’d like for him to get down with my family and fellow scouting families who support us.” Until the Boy Scouts mandated that parents explain to their children why their beloved den leader was no longer able to participate, my orientation wasn’t a problem in my son’s pack.
Chuck Norris’ sexual orientation has long been a topic of rumour, similar to that of other celebrities. The majority of the reports are untrue, but journalists are currently trying to convince all celebs to come out of the closet. Despite this, it is becoming more and more normal for people to publicly acknowledge that they are gay. Is it a coincidence that James Turley came out against the BSA’s century-old policy to ban gays from leadership? Turley has close affiliations with the pro-gay Obama administration.
