Laura and Arthur didn’t have the smoothest start when they met at the altar on Married at First Sight UK, with Laura revealing he ‘looked much like her ex-husband’ from behind.

But they made it past ‘I do’ to embark on their hasty marriage, a rollercoaster ride that didn’t go as planned, especially when he met up with Laura’s Chelsea friends.

Laura and Arthur are no longer together after she gave him back her wedding ring at the vow renewal ceremony. The pair spent five days apart before deciding on their future, with Arthur utilizing the time to prepare a meaningful speech and Laura reconnecting with herself.

She told him that the experiment showed her ‘what she doesn’t want’ from a marriage, but she was nonetheless heartbroken to break it off.

Laura finally spoke up about their divorce the day after it aired. She stated, “Arthur and I had developed so much as people, but the more we grew as individuals, the further distant we were from each other.

When a relationship no longer brings out the best in each individual and it becomes difficult to stay on the same page, decisions must be taken for the good of both parties.”

At the same time, Arthur added, “Laura has been incredible throughout the whole experience, and even though we’ve had our ups and downs, I’ll always be proud of her and respect her for the person she is. She is a strong, independent woman who’s not afraid to say how it is!”
