The official website and Twitter account of the anime adaptation of Rihito Takarai’s manga Ten Count boys-love revealed on October 28, 2022, that the theatrical anime will premiere in theatres in 2023.

The anime adaptation was initially scheduled to debut on television in 2020, however, the premiere was postponed so that the staff could further develop the story’s direction.
Toyama will serve as the anime’s director and screenwriter, while Tomomi Shimazaki will design the characters. The anime will be created by East Fish Studio and Synergy SP and distributed by Pony Canyon.
Shinnosuke Tachibana plays Shirotani Tadaomi, while Tomoaki Maeno plays Riku Kurose in the anime.

Ten Count boys-love is about Shirotani Tadaomi, a corporate secretary with severe mysophobia caused by an obsessive-compulsive illness.
One day, he meets Kurose, a therapist who proposes a ten-step method to treat his habit. As the two progress through the 10 stages, Shirotani’s infatuation with his counselor intensifies.
In July 2013, the manga authored by Takarai debuted in Shinshokan’s Dear+ magazine, and the series concluded in November 2017. In December 2018, Viz Media published the sixth and final volume of the manga.
The manga topped the 2014 and 2015 lists of Boys-Love Comics recommended by Nationwide Bookstore employees.

Story and Plotline
Ten Count focuses on Tadaomi Shirotani, a guy with severe mysophobia, or fear of germs. This dread has rendered him incapable of functioning in public.
In the hopes of overcoming his troubles, he visits Riku Kurose, a therapist. Kurose proposes that Shirotani undergo exposure therapy to assist him in overcoming his trauma. Kurose has Shirotani compose a list of ten things he wishes he could accomplish but cannot.
While Shirotani initially makes significant progress on his list, complications emerge when Kurose reveals he has developed a crush on Shirotani and attempts to cancel their treatment sessions.
However, Shirotani insists on continuing, and the couple continues counseling and developing a sexual connection, compelling Shirotani to delve deeply into the reasons for his troubles.
Clearly, such a connection would be immoral in the actual world. However, Boys Love media has always emphasized unconventional, uncomfortable, or morally ambiguous relationships.
However, this is typical of the genre. Numerous mainstream, heterosexual romance books, and romcoms depict relationships and acts that are appallingly immoral in reality.
But this is part of the genre’s charm. They provide us a glimpse of a world in which the customary laws can be disregarded and the prohibited, although still hazy, can be experienced as a fantasy.
