Spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 223 have been released, showing that the struggle between Sukuna and Satoru Gojo will begin in earnest in this chapter.
In addition to debunking a major theory from the previous chapter, this one unveils Utahime Iori’s Cursed Technique. Spoilers indicate that the manga will continue as normal next week. The 19-page long chapter 223 of Jujutsu Kaisen is rather lengthy.
What is Jujutsu Kaisen All About?
Gege Akutami is the author and illustrator of the Japanese manga series Jujutsu Kaisen. Since March 2018, it has been serialized in Weekly Shnen Jump, a shoujo manga magazine published by Shueisha; as of March 2023, 22 tankbon volumes had been released collecting the series’ chapters.
High schooler Yuji Itadori becomes the host of a strong Curse named Ryomen Sukuna and is recruited by a shadowy group of Jujutsu Sorcerers who are out to destroy him.
Jump GIGA published Akutami’s Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School from April to July 2017, and in December 2018, the chapters were gathered into a tankbon volume named Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
Gojo Launches the Initial Assault Against Sukuna in Chapter 223 of Jujutsu Kaisen
In the previous chapter, Sukuna ate every last one of his fingers but one. The Cursed Technique used by Yuji was alluded to, and Inumaki gave Yuta a cryptic present. Gojo was informed of the losses that had occurred. After a short delay, on December 24, both Gojo and Sukuna headed for combat on their own. A spoiler for chapter 223 of Jujutsu Kaisen states that the chapter is entitled “Evildoers Hell Battle, Part 1.”
A Spoiled Synopsis of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 223
Spoilers say that Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 223 starts with Gojo telling Ijichi that time in the prison world is both sped up and slowed down in ways that are hard to imagine. When they go to Shibuya, Gojo learns that everyone who was hurt by his Ultimate Void is now fine. Once Utahime and Gakuganji have arrived in the arena, the squad will begin pre-battle offensive preparations.
In a flashback, we see Principal Gakuganji admitting to the murder of Yaga and expressing regret. He informed Gojo and Panda that Yaga had disclosed the secret to creating Cursed Corpses, and Gojo was impressed that he hadn’t yet informed the higher-ups. Gojo comments that things will be a lot simpler now that Gakuganji is in charge of the Jujutsu Society after seeing the murder of the higher-ups in the next panel.
Back in the present, Uraume is complaining that they haven’t been given any information about where or when the battle will take place, but Sukuna already knows where it will be because she can feel Gojo’s Cursed Energy. Meanwhile, Ijichi is seen positioning himself as a physical barrier behind Gojo. Utahime may raise the Cursed Energy Output of any sorcerer, including herself, by performing a Dance Ritual as part of her Cursed Technique, “Solo Solo Kinku.”
Although they are strong enough to bypass the required middle steps, all four of them carry them out in order to fully utilize their Cursed Techniques. As a result, Gojo unleashes a “Hollow Purple” at Sukuna, charging it up to produce 200% more Cursed Energy than before.
The attack is stopped, but the King of the Curses fails to anticipate its precise nature because of Ijichi’s Barrier. Sukuna’s right arm is severed in the attack, and he becomes even more infuriated when Gojo says that Sukuna is the challenger.
