Why was Bleach’s story cut short?
Some fans were perplexed as to why Bleach’s story ended abruptly. The manga’s epilogue seemed rushed and abrupt, leaving readers with more questions than answers. Kubo revealed in 2016 that he has torn tendons in his shoulder as well as a partial fracture as a result of drawing for hours on end for 15 years.
By 2011, his overall health had deteriorated significantly as a result of a recurring cold that he couldn’t shake. The manga artist was frequently bedridden for up to a week at a time, only to recover and become ill again. Although he routinely endured pain in order to continue working, Kubo’s declining health undoubtedly impacted his productivity and made extending the Bleach arc difficult. Kubo also struggled with depression, which sapped his motivation to keep working on Bleach.
